by an enemy fighters. why is this so? i think this is ridiculous so we like it or not must have 50 or more kills in campaign, and must become 'ace of aces' (if u fly from '41 that number is really ridiculous like 100-150 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif...

of course it's your choice to pull the trigger and shoot enemy A/C down http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif. i'm personally sick of constantly shooting down 2 or more enemy A/C's per mission (RU fighter cam '41 on FR http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif), but it's neccesary or otherwise i'm very likely wouldn't survive the mission.

CraytonRoberts mentioned "kill flags" in his topic that's an excellent idea but with this goin on it's completely useless, 'cause these number of kills are absolutely not 'full real'...

after only 9 missions i got 10 kills.. and i'm not 'trigger happy' whatsoever, just the opposite.

answer is to simply make a lot of mission in campaign that would not be DIRECTLY opposed (they existed now but are very rare http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/93.gif).

yes, maybe if i use IL-2 shturmovik stab to tweak that all enemy A/C's & bomber gunners are on ACE level. i'm already on 'realistic' mode (like you might see in my above post)... and i'm not using deccelerate time when in dogfight, nor the autopilot (with the exception to get home or stay in the formation or else my campaign would last 8hrs a day for a year)

thx anyway

Isn't it possible to go into the config ini file and change the density (number) of air objects? I remember reading about this for original Il2.

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom." Isaiah 40:28

Config.ini

At bottom

[DGen]
AirIntensity=High
GroundIntensity=High
CampaignLength=VeryLong
MissionDistance=60
[Campaign]
AirIntensity=High
MissionDistance=60

Change High to Low, other than that I dont think you will get lower.

User made campaigns can be more realistic in this respect IMHO.

Watch this space....

Try DCG, you`ll get times when your flight meets nothing at all. It`s quite feasible to attack a target and not be intercepted, where others times the whole Luftwaffee/VVS seems to know you`re coming. It feels much more realistic, but every now and then you`ll feel as if the war is going on without you as you fly hearing all the fighting calls, but seeing nothing in your area of operations.

Your kill count will be more realistic too.

Many of your kills in offline missions wouldn't be kills in real life, but just damaged planes. In FB causing damage to the enemy's oil system or controls is almost a certain kill as the aircraft will either crash in a forest or make an emergency landing and explode a minute later in spite of the successful crash landing.

AI will also continue to fight even if they are slightly damaged and less manoeuvrable, which gives you the opportunity to get an easy kill.

A real pilot has a much better chance to return to base and save his plane in case of damage.

I'm glad most are opposed. Having more milk runs would be boring and not the answer to the problem.
some of the other suggestion for solutions make more sense.
