Please guys...be happy that the patch is coming at all...I have read so much noisome comments about the date of release that I could have believed Oleg would simply say "no patches anymore...they don´t deserve them!" I would be tempted if I were him.

You should be happy that developers are so much devoted to perfecting the imperfect. Givem peace please. As if harrying them about bugs was not enough. I say...if the bugs are fixed it does not matter whether today or next wednesday. Cuz who are we to judge how much time it takes exactly to address this or that?

Best regards

It took the us 2 months to build 11 prototypes of the p51b for the british.

6+ months is a very long time for a patch. But then again they are busy with other products. Just look how depressed and overworked the 1c team looks.

Since the developers decided to release such a buggy product in the first place, we DO deserve a patch. I wouldn't have minded if they delayed it till summer or fall, but UBI being like it is decided to ship it. Splinter Cell, Raven Shield, Forgotten Battles, what's next (hopefully not lock-on)?

AMD Athlon XP 1700+ T-Bred B
Epox 8K9AI
PC2100 512MB DDR
GeForce 4 Ti4600 128MB
Game Theater XP w/ Sony MHC-BX6AV

I don't care how long the patch gets delayed, but they absolutely can't keep saying 'It's coming out this week..' and then waiting till the last minute to say 'Oh, forget it - it's going to take another 6 days to get it out. But it is finished.'

Bah, oh well - plenty of time left for continuing IL-2 and setting my system clock back to play beta08 /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Took a while longer from the first P51
before it was 'patched' by using the Merlin, though!

Ah well, with all the whiney people sounding like kiddies sending letters to Santa Claus; "I wanna P-61" "I wanna Spitfire" "Gimme a Pony" .. etc etc..

..it's no wonder the workload just piles upon the developers' shoulders. New planes and goodies can always wait, while people work on the real priorities.. but nooooo.. "popular demand" just can't get enough, can it?

..

Now they're saying they gonna release a 'beta patch' which they'd like to call 'final version', which it is up to us to find serious bugs and report so they can patch it yet again, which 'might' be the real final version.

Man, the comic factor of people inhabiting these forums, is getting all the better, everyday.

It's too late to call it hurried.

I hope it isn't being held back by more planes needing finished. More planes is the last thing this sim needs.

Some people in here are just straight up IL2 apologists - IE NOTHING is ever wrong, and it doesn't matter what comes out about patches or whatever they are just fine with it.

I LOVE this game, and I really like IL2. In fact I just started an IL2 campaign again last night. And I am not all that dismayed about the patch being delayed. I mean, in the scheme of things (life) how important is this patch? or even the game itself? not very...

But I also believe that the people we have come to rely on for information about this product and it's updates knew before this morning that the patch wasn't going to go on-time and they should have let us know that yesterday or the day before. Comon, don't string us along. Just give it to us straight.

Truthfully, I don't want to hear about next Wednesday unless they are 110% sure that they can make the date. And if they can't please don't wait until the last minute to tell us.

People, this thread already is becoming full of rants.. Since we've just re-established a link with Oleg and Cartrix, wouldn't it be better if we try to rebuild a sane customer-producer-developer relationship?

Oleg/UBI were asked to keep in touch, now they did. Note that by the message that was posted on the main FB web page, they could have just indicated a new date and get away with that.

Instead, they are opening the patch to us so that we may tinker with it at our hearts contents, keeping impatient people (like myself) happy. It may have been done earlier, yes, but please let's get over it.

I think our next step should be resetting all past emotions and doing a good job testing the patch.

If we continue pointing fingers at each other, of course no one from UBI or Oleg will want to come here if not forced by ethical / legal issues. And that's exactly what happened until now.

You know, we may end up becoming a community (like, simhq or sukhoi.ru where there have been far more info from direct sources) instead of a bunch of old fart as we are now! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Chill out guys!
