Hello Mr. Maddox. I would like to thank you and your team for making the best and most eccentric flight sim available with the best customer support. I would just like the raise a question about the bomber autopilot.

I was wondering if it would be possible to patch in an option for a split autopilot in the bombers so that when you go to the bombardier station, the pilot flies the bird and all you have to do is aim. At the moment if you turn autopilot on it controls the bombardier as well. In my oppinion it would make the game more fun if this were an option, so that you could concentrate on dropping the bombs. It seems to be already partially implemented in the case of the gunner positions.

Thankyou again Mr. Maddox for the best sim available.

You can do this already.

RTFM!!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

No seriously I can't remeber what the control is called but it's in there - check your control settings.
I use "shift and A" to enable it but I don't know if I mapped that or if it's the default setting.

I've looked through all the controls and I can't seenm to find anything like you say, Extreme. The nearest thing is 'Toggles Autopilot Elevation' or something like that but I still can't use the bombardier position seperately if it's on.

If you could tell me how to do this you'd be being a real big help, thanks.

OK I'll try to help but am at work and don't have the manual with me.

Try first enabling autopilot when in the pilot's seat then moving to the bombardiers seat and pressing "shift + A" (I'm hoping that's the default setting and that I haven't remapped it)

If that fails we need to know which key is used by default....

Forget the autopilot, he is looking fpr the levelstabilisator. If my memory serves me it was introduced after a patch or maybe from the beginning but there isnt anything about in the manual but in one of the readmefiles. Its not bound so it have to be bound to some key.

The level stabilisator worked earlier for fighters to and that was good because you could then turn it on and check out other views without risking that your plane went into the ground.

Have you had any luck finding the keys?

You have to go into your control setup & set the keys up yourself. Just look for "Level Stabilizer".

Ironically, level stablizer will not actually hold the aircraft level. Here's the trick: you can still use the trim inputs (from any position, even bombsight) while the stabilizer is engaged. Use up trim to make the aircraft hold altitude and use rudder trim to make minor course corrections.
