Been playing with it.

Well major improvement over TIR1!

Refresh rate is as smooth as my usb mouse!

I have not messed with tweaking my profile at all. Just carried it over into the new install.
It seems just a tad fast on panning, But I think I'll leave it that way for a spell and see how I like it.

I personally had to turn Vsinc back on, due to tearing.

I notice it does not loose center anymore, like TIR1 did.

I like the way it lights up the housing when in enhanced mode. Realy handy, you no longer need to go back out and check the program anymore. Alot of times lag stutters would confuse you and make you think it was off before.

I am using the original Ball I made still, and see no reason to even try the dots or squares Naturalpoint provided. I can though, if requested, but I really see no point. Those of us on the Ball understand why. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

It was worth the price for upgrade!

Now my dad will get my old one and become a TIR addict aswell I hope.

Glad to hear it Toad. I've read others' too, as I'm sure you have, and it seems most everyone feels its worth the money. I've been going back and forth on joystick purchases so I'll have to wait a bit before I can get one - which I definitely plan on. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

S! Guys

TY but no congrats needed actually since I'm not new to it. But DAD I guess deserves one, come Fathers day. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I'm just posting my observations. Several folks have requested my opinion. So maybe they will see this and aknowledge later today.

Once you get your Joysticks and Moneys lined up you should really try and get on. Even if its a used TIR1 you will wonder how you went so long with out it, once properly tuned and setup for you. The TIR1 are going cheap now, I saw some a few weeks back go for as little as 30 US dollars. But If you do get a TIR1 I personally think I liked the 2.11 drivers the best with it.

It's a brilliant piece of kit! Got mine a couple of weeks ago and it's way above TIR1 performance. The filtering is way improved, no more sudden changes of view when a stray chink of light gets through....now I'm flying in full daylight and only have to avoid seeing my reflection in the monitor. 3Pro is excellent. WTG Toad, have fun http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I also have the TIR 1 and want to upgrade. Should I buy TIR 3 or the Pro Version? Is the Pro Version the extra money worth? Or will the cheaper TIR 3 do it.

Hey TB,

Since you and I have had a few good fights on GreaterGreen, you will be a good info source. Does TIR really allow error-free panning in the very intense 1 v 1's where you are in one of those twisting death-spirals to see who's chicken first? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif You know, the real furballs.

Just looked at the TIR site, and $140 really isn't much money for something with that kind of potential. Sounds like the dead forward position is more stable now, which was always my major reservation.

Cya round, <S>

i've never owned a TIR device but just recently got the TIR3 pro. it just doesn't skip a beat. i have to center it every once in a blue moon (most likely due to my erratic head movements), but it's smooth as silk, seemingly flawless and sure adds to the immersion factor. i'd rate the price per fun ratio as an even 100%, best per dollar enjoyment piece of hardware i've ever purchased. a definate must have.

darn, i should work for the company.

Put it this way if you have enough money for the TIR3 I bet you have enough to go the PRO model. Its not mutch more.

Can't speak to TIR3, but Ive just received my new TIR2 unit within the last few days - amazing stuff! It took me a couple of days and some tweaking to get the setup to where it was comfortable for me, but wow.

A buddy of mine (who's not particularly into flight sims) came over last night and noticed a funny new device perched atop my monitor.

"What's that, a web cam?" he asked.
"Mmmm, just put on this hat." said I, punching a couple of buttons.

He spent most of the rest of the evening just staring at the screen, moving his head around http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
