Has anyone had any luck getting Rocksmith 2014 to run on a Windows Vista PC? It'll work a little bit while navigating through setup but then crashes. It also is making strange sounds during the process like it is having problems with the sound card. The further I have been able to get is to the calibration. Also, it has been 2 days since I submitted this issue to UPlay Support and I have yet to receive a response. Are they always this quick to respond to an issue or are they just overwhelmed?

It's not compatible with Vista.

I've had several people try it.

You must be running on a desktop & not a laptop, correct?

I run Rocksmith on a Windows 8.1 (was 8) laptop.

I have a Dell Inspiron 15R SE, with i5, and AMD 7700M (?) graphics card.

The Dell 17R with Windows 8 and 7 runs it. Lots of people run it with Win8 but the configuration of drivers can be tricky in that OS...

I had to return Rocksmith 2014 to Best Buy for a full refund as I was unable to get it to work on my Windows Vista laptop and was told that it wouldn't. Here is the response I received from Andrea at Ubisoft Tech Support:

After looking over your system files, we have determined that your system does not meet the minimum requirements to play this game. The video card installed in your system is directly integrated to the GPU. These cards are designed for browsing the internet, looking at pictures and watching movies, but were not designed to render videogame graphics. As a result, the game is unable to start. We recommend trying the game on a new system that does meet minimum requirements or upgrading your current computer to meet them. You can view the minimum requirements for this game here:

Supported OS: Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8
Processor: 2.66 GHz Intel Core2 Duo E6750 or 2.8 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (3.06 GHz Intel Core i3-540 or 3.30 GHz AMD Athlon II X3 455 or better recommended)
RAM: 2 GB (4 GB or greater recommended)
Video Card: 256 MB DirectX 9.0c-compliant with Shader Model 3.0 or higher (see supported list)*
Sound Card: DirectX-compatible
Hard Drive Space: 12 GB
Peripherals Supported: Keyboard, mouse, microphone, Rocksmith Real Tone Cable (USB 2.0 port required)

Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
AMD Radeon HD 2600 XT / 3000 / 4000 / 5000 / 6000 / 7000 series
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT / 9 / 200 / 400 / 500 / 600 / 700 series

Laptop versions of these cards may work, but are not supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game.

You can try updating the drivers for your chipset as they are rather old. You can get new drivers from the Intel Support website.
