We typically fly anything and everything. We did a lot of coops last time around! Had a LOT of fun. Lima is good at mission building so he may make up a few maps we can play. We can also host a dedicated server and play online. There are lots of options! Just bring your own Joystick, and your IL2 CD's. We have some very good systems ready for everyone interested.

Knowing you, you will forget to bring your Aces CD, and go out and buy the Gold pack, PLUS Aces add-on.

You also going to Chino? This is a week after Chino.

We played a lot of coop missions last time, and a little online fun.

We also did a lot of general chatting about video games, aviation, WWII, and things like that.

There was pizza, chips-n-dip, snack food, cake, and all sorts of stuff.

In general, we just have fun!

As for Flo's, I am DEFINITLY not a morning persone. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif You would need to get there rather early for a seat if you plan on going during the airshow. You guys can try, but I say we meet at like the enterance in the morning. I plan on getting there early and setting up chairs and my tripod at a good spot for the flying demo's. We can all set-up camp in the same area.

The Bad News: Due to our upcoming workload, we will have to reschedule the LAN Party to June 12th. Sorry, but there is a VERY good chance that we will actually be working that weekend.

The Good News: The patch for AEP has an even better chance of being released by then! (g/k) No, the real good news is that we will be done building out the upstairs and able to handle twice as many of you guys.

Hey, just saw this thread. My son, Flying_Reaper would definitely like to attend. I'm glad you changed the date because the first one was on the date of my older son's graduation, but the 12th is wide open. We're in the middle of moving right now, so the family's in one part of town and the computer and cable connection are in another which is why I'm writing for him. He'll be over tomorrow to help with some moving and I'll have him post a reply also to confirm.

Hey L.Z., tell GOZR that Frisco is only a short hop from Burbank. Heck, Robin can drive it in about 4 1/2 hours. I'll see if she is up to making some killer guacamole for the party- if we still have any avacatos left on the tree by June.
Tell Gib. that the only thing I learned was how not to get so lost ( of coarse having a bomb go off under my P-39 didn't help my flying any)!

My dad, Phalcon_51, told me about this LAN party and I would be delighted to join. I'm not exactly an ace at IL2 but I have gotten prolly around 60 kills online. Ive never been to a LAN party, so what hardware do I need to bring, anything special?

Just bring your joystick and game CD's.

I dont know if there is a minimum age for the lan party. There may be since its at LimaZulu's office and there could be a liability issue with insurance or something. Its his call.

I myself have been going to Lan Party's since i was 15. As long as its a trustworthy bunch of guys, its all good fun. Some lan party's are DEFINITLY not for kids and more like frat party's with computers. I have been to a few of those and prefer the more relaxed "friends with computers" party.

LZ,

Flying_Reaper's dad here. I figured I'd tag along and watch and see if I could learn something; I'm a lousy virtual pilot. I need to get rid of this damn job so I can have more time to fly and improve my skills!

I have a question for you. We have trackIR, a MSFFB2 stick and I just bought a CH Pro Throttle off eBay. Can we bring this stuff, hook it up and use it? It would obviously involve installing drivers, though they could certainly be uninstalled afterwards. Is this happening at your place of work? What are the specs on the boxes? (just curious)

LimaZulu

Phalcon,

It is not a problem. Last time we had people who needed to set up our machines show up earlier than the people bringing their own rigs.

Yes, this is taking place at my place of work, Red Gypsy Animation. We have quite a few high end systems here, not specifically set up for gaming but do pretty good at it. I will release the current list of machines as we get closer tot he date.

Not sure if you got the re-schedule notice in the other thread so here it is again below!

(oh, and no problem with monitors, keybards and mice)

*IMPORTANT UPDATE*

Despite my best scheduling efforts, it has become apparent that we will have to postpone the LAN Party until the 26th of June. The network temporarily accelerated the delivery schedule on one of the series that we work on and most everyone here is currently working the weekends to keep up.

I profusely apologize for the delay and any problems it may cause to anyones plans, normally it is much easier to plan things around here.

PS - at least everyone is used to hearing "2 more weeks"!
