I was wondering what you think of fs9 scenery compaired to your game.

fullworld terrain vs small square map.

Fs9 dynamic Weather, Full world Terrain, reflective models and CEM : CFS3 FLAK BURSTS : IL2fb Models, cockpits damage models and water textures : Janes wwii fighters game Interface, museum, hat switch that moves like the mouse and sounds : Xplanes flight dynamics = perfect simulation.

Im hoping BOB really steps the bar up

I agree I really hope Oleg throws old computer people to trash can and makes BoB top notch.

IMHO il2 big draw back at the moment is that its net code was designed for modem users. I hope that BoB will be designed having DSL in mind.

And shouldnt spare no expense with the engine and graphics. When il2 first came it slowed down in my rig, nowdays I can run everything maxed out without any problems.

Make it goodlooking with suberb engine and think about CPU needs later http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

S!

What I do not understand is that the proggies are like behemoths, big and buggy. IMO the programmers are too lazy nowadays to optimize the code. At least this is true when talking about MS stuff http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif They seem to think that well..let the user buy a better machine to handle his sloppy coding http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

What I am trying to say is that a game does not need to be a giant to look good or be good. Usually the best inventions are the simplest ones http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif But let's hope that BoB is a new benchmark and the development team has learned something of IL2 and not repeating the same errors there http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

I hope to god Oleg does not!! LockOn has some of the strangest warps I have ever seen in a flight sim online.. So if that is netcode with DSL in mind.. Dont use it!

You have to target what is out there.. But just make sure there are enough options to enable as people get newer and better rigs.. ie do exactally like he did on IL2! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

LLv34_Flanker, massive bloated code comes from the tools used, especially if its a Microsoft Standard, its not always the programmer's fault.
