Any advantages to using one of the puters on my network to host? I think the "next best" one is about a 1.4 gig something or other with about 6-700 megs sdr
I know to leave it set as dumbed down as possible i.e. 640x480 16 bit, no sound driver usage and no other programs running.
Is this a good idea for lag free play?
I dont see any servers saying the plane sets are preloaded to prevent lag, and I've been in some servers with low pings, and all players with low pings and every stinking time someone spawned there was the hang...lots of new hosteseses??
How many more players are you able to host doing this instead of hosting on the PC you are playing on?

hey man! your 1.4 PC can hold like 14+ host. If you choose map wisely and preload all planes... should be smooth. When dedicated is released... you can go for 16-18 + HOST.

I noticed that alot of servers, if not majority don`t really care about preloading planes. Even those who swears that they do and their games are smooth as a silk... they are not. Quiet a few kidding themselfs http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Hey, I'll be looking for ya now that I'm flying agin
You dont think the hassles of preloading is worth it?
But I notice a hang when someone respawns. Is that something on my end or "their" end?
You've logged several hundred hours more serving than I have lately.
Used to do airstart knife-fight crap plane servers in the beginning.
Going to do it again, ala those bi-planes etc,
and finished one pure jet and one uber plane map. Got the basics of a Pacific map done if you overlook the Jap Fleet is Russian!
tora tora tora baby!!
