Are we getting the FB hand-me-downs on this or something fresh?

We are getting the fb style textures... All the better the ones you show are just awful when you fly to close to the ground...

Thanks Hm,

I must say the online Normandy map looks pretty good up and high and down low.

In another thread there is whining about fights being too low.

In this thread, terrain textures look like krap down lown.

I can't figure you sim-heads out.

Check your own website... you're building a cockpit for flight simulation. If that's not a "simhead" thing to do then I don't know what is. Don't go cutting people up around here... it's like punching yourself in the face.

You two make my case nicely. Great work.

And what case would that be? That condescension makes you feel better about yourself?

They're in no way contradictory. Fights tend to be too low in this game, but there are still plenty of reasons to BE low, particularly in the PTO where low level attacks were bread and butter. Even in a scenario where all combat takes place at high alt, the planes are all on the ground at least twice.

You're probably a really nice person (in person), but I think you are making much more of this than it is.

Apologies if I mistook the tone of your message... I've just seen way too many people talking down to others on this forum in the last little while. As far as I can see it, unless you've got something constructive to contribute then there's little point in posting. Just an opinion and this is a forum... but take a look at some of the recent topics and I think you'll see where I'm coming from.

I can't say all the planes were on the ground twice... Once at one point maybe... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

That's CFS3, right?

I agree . . . looks damn good in the air, but close to the ground? That's another story.

That sim is off my hard drive, and after spending over $100.00 on it for two copies . . . one for me, and one for a squadmate, it won't be back on my machine anytime soon.

Tsisqua

That is exactly what I was thinking... UGH!! CFS has great maps and graphics uphigh.. but I like having the shadows of the trees move as you get down low.

Except for air starts they're all on the ground twice. Whether or not they intended to be on the ground the second time (or how many pieces they are in at the time)is obviously an issue http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I'd rather have FB where the trees aren't flat on the texture.

There was a quite nice expansion for CFS3 that some one showed pics of ealier. The textures looked very good down low, except they should have modled the buildings.

Florida country looked exactly like FB maps back when I took some flying lessons. Map Horizon could be greatly extended beyond 20km though. How silly.
