I am not complaining about anything, I just thought PF would be a small stand alone using lots of planes that were previously in FB, but now that I saw the number of new planes, I wonder how many "really new" ones we will get.

That statement and the one about 9 different types of carriers are both very interesting.

For FB vets...I'll betcha the number is quite a bit lower...maybe by 50% at the most. There are still plenty of flyables that we haven't run into at all...the Betty, Hellcat, Wildcat, Corsair, Oscar, Tony...these all represent new aircraft to us. But I'm sure (expressly for marketing purposes and to educate the general public) that we've flown some of the planes present...although we may see a couple of new versions that we haven't flown before (i.e. the Seafire).

10 truelly new types of flyable planes 4 different versions of each.
makes 40 new flyable planes.

It's probably somewhat of a marketing trick http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif but you can't say they lied.

I was hoping we'd get the "official" plane list after E3...any word of when we will get it?

I know the whining tends to commence after such announcements, but I'd rather know than not know

That's not really that many, if you count the really famous ones:

IJN: Akagi, Kaga, Soryu, Hiryu, Shokaku

US: Lexington, Yorktown, Essex

So there's only room for one more, maybe a CVE or Wasp. Probably won't be seeing the Shinano then. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

Underpromise and overdeliver.

Eagle Dynamics work that way too, must be something in the Russian drinking water. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

sugaki -

Look again - the update says there will be 9 TYPES of carriers - not 9 carriers !!!

cve is one TYPE of carrier - how many CVE's were there?.. 8? 10?

Essex class?

How many different TYPES of IJN carriers ?
How many of each TYPE of IJN carrier?

So PF will have way more than 9 carriers, see?

Will the AEP planes, such as Fw190, Bf109, La7 and Yaks be included in PF? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
