View Full Version : Day and Night Cyles and the Potential Use of Camps

I find that the day and night cycle seems very quick. Because of this given quests seem to take days due to character exhaustion and the trips to town for the use of the inn. I feel it would be better to stretch out the day and night periods to give a better sense of quest progress and a camping or tent system that allows for proper character rest. If for the sake of balance and realism in the use of a camp cost would be greater as well as tied to a chance for an ambush based on character chance or random generation.

I think the day night cycles need to be a lot longer. I don't remember walking around town in any of the previous M&M games and day and night passing me by to the point of week and exhaustion.

Yes day and night cycles are very fast. I do not know how much time exactly passes with each step but I do not remember it going that fast in the old games. Ther one step was 10min outside and 1min in town and dungeons. Would be a good system for mmx too.

You can alter the passage of time in the game.
In the game directory there is a config folder, you can edit it simply by clicking on it to open it in notepad.
I changed all times in the game.
Instead of a step in town taking 20 minutes, I set it to 1 minute
Resting I dropped from 480 minutes to 60 minutes.
I modified every time setting in the game to 1 minute EXCEPT the resting, which I kept at 60 minutes.
This way you can enjoy the game without the days racing by.
Before you edit you config file, make a copy of it and store it elsewhere for safety.

The file you need to edit is in the following path:-
Might & Magic X / Might & Magic X Legacy data / StreamingAssets { in here is the CONFIG file }

Here is a copy of my config file for you to copy & paste to replace your current one ( remember to back up the original first and store it elsewhere or rename it so the game can only find on CONFIG file):-

Great, thank you!
I set 1 minute in dungeon and town, and 5 minutes out of town and works great for me :)
