Dude...you've got to be kidding me. I have to wait until noon to get my download code, then download a 16 gig file, then download a patch, then install the game, the patch, and now I have to do that ALL AGAIN before I can play?

Come on, guys. I want to play the game I bought.

Nobody else has this issue?

While downloading and installing the game, be sure that there are no other programs running in the background that could interfere with the process. Be sure that you are not relocating any files as well as altering any pre-existing files required for the game. Unfortunately, you may have to uninstall and reinstall the game to see if the problem persists. Meanwhile, I would suggest submitting a ticket to Support with your dxdiag and msinfo so this can be looked into further. You may locate the links to Support in my signature below.

I've done this three times now. 3 times I've downloaded 19 gigs of game, and three times I've uninstalled it.

This is absurd.

I have a physical copy and have the same trouble, even after installing the patch.

@dyllshummy
By any chance do you also run Windows 8.1?

My system specs for reference, except for the graphics card, and windows 8.1 (the preview is full of fubar), I believe they are good enough. I installed it on the C:\ drive in C:\Programs\Ubisoft [...]

I solved it - the problem is embarrassing. The default folder name is "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell® Blacklist™". Renaming it to "Blacklist" fixed the issue for me.

Might want to fix that, Ubi.

That fixed it, the problem is with the the special character(s), ™ in the name, now I just need to fix the registry for the proper location.

Found out how to resolve this issue. Took some engineering but I figured it out, and the hunch about unicode characters being the culprit was correct.

1.) Go to C:/Program Files/Ubisoft and rename your Splinter Cell Blacklist folder from "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell® Blacklist™" to whatever you choose without the R and TM symbols. Take note of what you rename it to. I simply removed the unicode symbols, making it "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist".
2.) Go to Start, and in your search bar, type "regedit" (obviously no quotes). This will bring up your system's registry.
3.) Hit CTRL+F to enable the search function. Enter "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell® Blacklist™" (No quotes....) and hit "Find Next". When it finds that value, change "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell® Blacklist™" to whatever you renamed your folder to.
4.) Repeat step 3.) until it displays that it couldn't find anymore of that value.
5.) Enjoy Splinter Cell Blacklist!

The alternative to this is going into Ubisoft/Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell® Blacklist™, renaming the folder to something without Unicode, and then just running Ubisoft/Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell® Blacklist™/src/SYSTEM/Blacklist.exe manually. The first method ensures you won't have to manually patch, though.

The first method also allows you to launch the game through uPlay and minimizes chances of having to start the game (to get uPlay running) then okaying an error message before relaunching the game.

I've done this three times now. 3 times I've downloaded 19 gigs of game, and three times I've uninstalled it.

This is absurd.

19 gig ?

bought the digital version and have now got to around 50 gig,
physical games for me from now on,and a good reply to those who defend buying digital dload verrsions.

access the folder where the game was installed, and click on "AssassinsCreedRevelations"
if it works send "AssassinsCreedRevelations" to your desktop ... with me it worked ...
