View Full Version : Ejection Seat SPLAT!

Kinda silly I know, but when ever you bail from the Go 229 or He 162 on the ground, while sitting still, you go SPLAT on the ground after the seat ejects and you fall... Any chance to have the ejection seat disabled when you're sitting still?

At the risk of being facetious, keep your fingers away from Ctrl E or whatever you use. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Perhaps the ejector seat is modelled correctly and you wouldn't survive from zero altitude anyway.

Cheers!

What if you crash-land and want to leave the aircraft before it explodes or gets machine-gunned by the enemy..???

Hmmm, limitations of the sim I suppose. It looks the only safe options are ejecting at altitude or hitting ESC before somebody comes after you on the ground. No AEP here yet so I don't know how much of a bind that's going to be.
Cheers!

I don`t even have AEP yet and I know that the Readme says DO NOT EJECT while on the ground. There is very little chance of survival. Also, remember, these are pioneering inventions, NEW things. They`re not F16 ejector seats guaranteed to let you survive. It took much US/UK work making REALLY good ejector seats in the 1950s (even modern ejector seats can still kill you if used wrongly ).

Read up on it.

The readme says that you should not eject if you're 500m above the ground.

That's just it though: You're not merely getting out of your a/c after a succesfull mission: you're "Bailing out".. which would entail using whatever was used at the time to make your "escape" from the plane. So really, it is as someone has said, just a limitation of the sim. Though, there is no real NEED to jump out of your plane on the ground anyways.

So if I crash land, and my engines are on fire and I gotta get out, I cant? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I think it shouldn't be too much a problem for Oleg and his team to let the Pilot crawl out of the pit manually when the plane is on 0/0 .

still waiting for Aces....

Actually, I see what you mean now. Good point. I guess this is one thing that`s been overlooked. There needs to be TWO modes od leaving a plane 1. standard bail and 2.simple getting out on the ground.

Yes. You are right. It needs looking into.

Oops, I got your question now. It seems that if you crashland with a plane with ejection seat you are traped inside, so you can't crashland, you have to eject all the time.
Please report this bug to Maddox Games.

I dont think its so much of a Bug but a Limitation we have to live with - Unless it can be Coded so that:

IF Engine Damage = 100% + Plane is Stationary on Ground = Normal Pilot Bailout ELSE USE Ejection Seat.

Disclaimer: I cant Code to save my Life, If what I just Typed sounds like a total load of plant growing medium - you know why.

It should be ENGINE OFF = NORMAL BAILOUT, so you could do a belly landing, switch the engine off and get out of the plane (without getting sucked into a Junkers Jumo).

Dunkelgrun and Seafire: I'm in the UK myself, so no AEP for me either till the 18th... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif

I E-mailed Oleg, he said it's a no go for a fix. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif No problem, just a minor thing...
