I like the first one better, he actually plays the game.

Maybe you should watch the rest of the Playlist =)

Be nice, narupley.

Okay okay; I didn't know / forgot that it was an entire playlist. To be fair, at first Gerugon only posted the first video (embedded) and then only after edited his post with the links to the next one (and the whole playlist). That definitely looks like it's much more in-depth than the first video posted.

Though I'm not a German speaker, so I can only understand a little of what he's saying. If it was in Japanese I'd be set. ;)

The video clip in post #4 really gives an impressive demonstration of how fun Might & Magic X: Legacy could potentially be!

I liked the way the animation in the 2D elements work well with the 3D environment. Loved the day into night sequence while the venturing party is in-town. Loved the chatter in the venturing party when one is injured. Loved the animation in the spider models; the way the 8 legs look as if they're really holding up all that weight!

This clip should put all the speculation to rest... for now. Might & Magic X: Legacy looks good to me!

Just watched all the above mentioned videos and I must say, the combat sounds and character barks are great, like in Wizardry 8. Also the colorful environment and ambient music gives memories to old games (e.g. Lands of Lore 3). The game mechanics are also implemented very well - one can really see the influences from different games. The Day-Night cycles are also solved in an interesting way. Also I noticed the different ambient sounds (horse, people), so one can really see, that LE works very thoroughly.

Despite the video reviewer noticing minor limits in character creation I believe there are many ways to build your party. I especially recall how Gerugon elaborated that the skill "Evasion" could be very useful for a fighter, and therefore an Elf could be used for that class. I didn't thought about this, but this way one could create some kind of Samurai or Ninja, which is really cool. Besides I think that the amount of equipment slots are sufficient.

So... what did I not like? I don't know...
Ah...what seemed strange was, that the party was completely frozen during combat. But that was maybe a delusion. I actually think it was, because it would be strange if one couldn't approach the enemy during combat in order to use close combat skills. And there are some visual GUI styles (e.g. "glass button" behind character portraits) I don't like that much, but this is purely subjective and it's neglectable compared to the overall convincing impression.

In my opinion, the elven might-based class may indeed look like a "Samurai", with evasion but no shield skill.
Like you, I loved the great atmosphere, the animations, the colours and the dynamic-looking fights.

What I did not quite like: there was no interaction between the characters and the environment (like some secret doors or items hidden behind a rock), except chests. But I guess we'll get more of these in real dungeons. I think the GUI could still be improved, especially the textzone on the top left hand corner: its background needs to be a bit more transparent (currently it's black).
Plus, the numbers that appear on the characters' faces do not really make sense to me, as it's not clearly synchronised with them hitting or being hit.
Another thing, when the characters walk straight, it looks weird and twitchy because they are stopping on each tile they step on. In M&M4-5, I understand it was normal because of the graphical constraints, but with MMX I do not think the player really needs it (in Legends of Grimlock, it is not so pronounced).

But it seems that the team has already done a really good job, thank you so much ! I can't wait to play the act I !

I agree, I believe the GUI needs a bit more work...

Perhaps, going back in and rendering the GUI's sculpture-like template...

Objects in the GUI should be spinning, glowing, moving, reacting at all times while the game is in-session.

Hi guys,

Between two Duel of Champions videos, I thought I would give Legacy a try and make a commented "Let's Play" series on this.
Here is the result!

¨Please tell me what you think if you have any constructive feedback :)

Thanks and enjoy :)

PS: I'll be adjusting the sound volume and adding in the mouse pointer in the next épisodes... I hadn't realised it was off.
