How do you get info on all the new planes? It seems that even some of the planes added in the original AEP is missing out from the browser in the game. Even the web-site seems more like original IL2. By now there are tons of Yak's, 109's and 190's but how do you really find out the properties of the planes?

Thanks. This was a lot of info. I guess the only vital info missing is aerodynamic such as speed, climbrates and turnradius.

Impressing collection of data. It should have been on the official IL2 site.

You can't see that stuff in the game if you click "view objects"? I'll have to have a peek.

Hmmmm, the I-185 versions from the last patch are missing, indeed. Must be the patched planes that aren't showing.

Since the original Il2 came out, with each patch(and there has been many),there has also been a "README" issued that explains the new planes and features in each patch. These have always been pretty good until this last patch it seems a lot of info on changes was left out.
If someone new just got the sim and all they have is FB/AEP, then they have missed out on a lot of README notes.

No matter. I don't know how many of these patches are still availiable for download. But if you have access to a broadband connection download them and extract the README notes. They have heaps of info in them on the changes in flight models, the Complicated Engine Management specs for each, and much info on the features and operation of the sim itself. If they are hard to get maybe it is time for someone to compile them and offer them in one download? I will look on all my old backup disks from the last three years, I think I have every patch, and see if I can do something like this if there is interest.

3DGamers has Patch readme files, labeled as "description" in light blue next to the dark blue link that takes you to download mirrors.
