Yes, only 2 prototypes were completed, there is a dout that the pilot who used to fly this plane got a kill wiht it or not, he got a kill on me262 but they cant tell if it was on normal or the bigcannon one, the only thing i can say, i just took down 9 b17s before i run out of amo :S

Does it stop flying when you fire it?

The only time in flew in combat the gun jammed. The pilot was Maj W Herget on April 5 and April 16 in WNr 111899. Baur made 19 flights testing firing 47 rds at the ground and 81rds in the air. WNr 170083 was captured but crashed when an engine exploded on the transfer flight to be loaded on the carrier for transport to the USA.

tenmike, I can find not any listing other than the MK214A cannon in the 262 (Me262 Vol 1)

Give us the Me262A-1/U1 (2xmk103, 2xmk108, 2xMG151/20), that at least was flown in combat several times and had at least 2 documented kills.

Actually several combat missions were flown whit that 50mm mauser mod. Pilots name was Willi "little one" Herget. One mustang pilot reported that he saw a me262 armed whit "phonepole" attacking bombers. unfortunatly that cannon had severe malfunctions so it was not so effective.

It was 2 missions, as I said in the post just above yours.
