Great job there! You really did some good work gathering all that.
Man I'm so glad they have Santiago de Cuba there, I was hoping it'd make it in. Now, what I'm wondering is, is this really the full map? From what I can see in the zoom in bar, it looks like it was at about 80 percent. Maybe a little more of Florida and something more to the south? I sure hope so. Hopefully the rest of Saint Domingue will be explorable and we'll have a very recent Cap Haitien and hopefully Santo Domingo with the oldest cathedral built in the Americas. We'll see, though, I'd be perfectly satisfied with this being the whole map because it's HUGE. So much in it.

+1 good job! A small thing. The bottom right fort by Jamaica doesn't have a restriction zone, wonder whether that's a (Yeah I know pre-release etc etc I just thought I'd say it just in-case it's something else) glitch or something I don't know.

Well Haiti is there to the very southeast it just doesn't have any icons. Same goes for the Yucatan Peninsula

Man I'm so glad they have Santiago de Cuba there, I was hoping it'd make it in

I don't really think that the city is in the game, too big. On the other hand, they've confirmed Port Royale and Tortuga (to my surprise), and there's definitely an icon where Santiago should be, so we will have to wait and see ;)

You're in fact right. There's a bit more to the north and to the south, but don't expect any cool revelation. There only thing you're missing are a couple of islands under Jamaica the size of Cozumel, that's all.

All that map need now is Isla de Muerta and then I can redo the whole of the 1st pirates of the Carribean
Well, the funny thing is they have created some islands of their own and put them on the map, like Misteriosa and another 2 unidentified islands to the southwest of Jamaica. Isla de Muerta could be one of them after all! ;)

A small thing. The bottom right fort by Jamaica doesn't have a restriction zone, wonder whether that's a (Yeah I know pre-release etc etc I just thought I'd say it just in-case it's something else) glitch or something I don't know.
Yeah, probably WIP stuff. I've seen some changes in different parts of the map between the 7 minutes demo and the newer 13 extended version.

I could of swore I saw Haiti once on a map...
Haiti IS in the map, only that at the time it was a french colony called Saint Domingue. The same happens with Mexico, then known as New Spain. Hope that helps!

ALSO, guys notice how you can actually see the city of Havana in the main map. Cool!

Nope. Ash confirmed that you won't be able to explore EVERY bit of land you see on the map. For example, you can't go deep into the mainland of Cuba.. You can't go too far inland on most of the islands. However, ash said that the land available is more than enough and "good luck exploring the whole world)

Fantastic. I see a lot of the Yucatan peninsula there and that is very satisfying. But then again, knowing there is a Maya mentor, then it makes sense it'd be there. The map seems to go a little further down, so I have hope that maybe, just maybe, Izabal could be there. What do the T, CB and P stand for, I wonder... The P seems to me to be around the area where Cap Haitien could be. The CB is around the area where Viñales Valley would be.
Oh wait T stands for Tulum. Obviously an important location, maybe a base for the brotherhood?
I can also see a few symbols around the Belize area too. I can also see stuff around the area that would be Roatan, maybe even northern Honduras could be there?

Wow...that looks amazingly huge.

What I'm wondering is this: the plain white shield icons are definitely the cities--Havana, Kingston and Nassau all get an initial.

But there's still O, P, C and T drifting around. What I'm wondering is what about these locations was important enough to merit a city-style icon, since we already know about some settlements (like Tortuga) that are in-game but do NOT appear as a city-icon.

Incredibly excited to explore this open world. The sheer variety of places to explore is boggling. Plus we have to remember that there are (allegedly) 75 playas and sandbanks, small locations too tiny and unimportant to appear on the map at this scale, but which still have things to do (seems like mostly items and missions to pick up).

Areas that I see like that are Tortuga, Port-Au-Prince, Roatan, the area in northern Jamaica that is either a Taino site or a plantation (The Prospect Great House).
For Cuba, I can see an area that's either Pinar Del Rio (the municipality of the province by the same name) or San Juan y Martinez (almost certainly a plantation in that case, in Cuba, San Juan y Martinez is known as the "Mecca of the Tobacco."). I can also see something that is either Camaguey or Trinidad (Most likely Camaguey, though this version of Cuba ain't exactly accurate), and also the area that would be Santiago de Cuba. Also note there's a fort in the area that would be the Guantanamo province. Oh, and also Juventud Island.
As for the area around Belize, Cerros seems to be one of the ? symbols. Belize City (known as Belize Town back then) as well.

Nope. I'm afraid you can't go that far to he south.

What do the T, CB and P stand for, I wonder... The P seems to me to be around the area where Cap Haitien could be. The CB is around the area where Viñales Valley would be. Oh wait T stands for Tulum. Obviously an important location, maybe a base for the brotherhood?

You are right. The T is Tulum, the mayan city believed to be the HQ of the assasins. CB is more than likely Cayo Buenavista, but it could be a reference to Corrientes Bay (Bahía de Corrientes). Also, there is a fishing village close to that location, in Bahía de Cortés. Cap Haitien is nowhere near that P location. First I thought it could be Port-De-Paix, but the place is clearly in the middle of the ocean, so no, it's not a city ( unless it's an underwater city like Rapture, which woud be awesome! :D)

I can also see a few symbols around the Belize area too.
The one in the Turneffee Islands is a smugglers cave. The other is maybe Belize City?

I can also see stuff around the area that would be Roatan, maybe even northern Honduras could be there?
That is not Roatan, but a bunch of islands made up by the team. Misteriosa island (the one from the 13 minutes demo), wich obviously doesn't exist, is in that area. And no, you won't see Honduras in this game. Sorry!

That's because the player has to "discover" the place first. In the new map there is no C icon in Cozumel or O in Orange bay, but we know they are there. That's all.

Areas that I see like that are Tortuga, Port-Au-Prince, Roatan, the area in northern Jamaica that is either a Taino site or a plantation (The Prospect Great House)
Tortuga is in the game, and there is some sort of village there. I don't expect to see Port-Au-Prince, but there is a smugglers cave in Gonave Island. Roatan is definitely not in the game. The question mark in northern Jamaica is another smugglers cave. Tainos have not been confirmed, and plantations will probably have some new icon that we have not seen yet, so we will have to wait and see.

Oh, and also Juventud Island.
If you mean the question marks, the ones you are refering to are: a fishing village in Bahía de Cortes (Pinar del Rio), a smugglers cave in Ciego de Avila, and some sort of beach near Santiago de Cuba. There is a mayan temple in Juventud (which was knows as Pinos Island back then, btw).

As for the area around Belize, Cerros seems to be one of the ? symbols. Belize City (known as Belize Town back then) as well.
I hope that Belize Town and Cerros are in the game, even if Cerros was in Assasin's Creed III.

I'm still hoping they've changed the names in the game that are wrong. Juventud Island was known as Isla de Pinos (or Pinos Island) until 1978, when cubans changed it. Andros Island was never known as "Andreas" (it has always been Andros), so I don't know where they get that idea. And Mayaguana was known as Maguana, not Mariguana (I mean, wtf?) Ayway, I can't wait to see their rendition of Port Royale, which was confirmed to be in the game by Ashraf Ismail. Cool!

Sorry for cutting it all off, I'm being a little lazy to go separating the quotes one by one. But anyway:

Yeah, part of Guatemala and Honduras is wishful thinking, as was Cap Haitien. So I wonder where they'll go with that. Specially the area where I was trying to guess Cap Haitien.
Belize Town and Cerros sound like potential locations to me. Cerros would be interesting to revisit as part of the map here and maybe having a different use in this game (some enemies settled around the area and something related to the door in Tulum mentioned in the achievements, maybe?). Good call about Ciego de Avila, didn't think about that. I was convinced about Camaguey, but hey.
Also, I noticed something else, in the Haiti area a question mark fits the location around Léogâne and Petit-Goâve, so maybe there's a chance of seeing either of those?

Most of the locations posted by andre982d are forts (Castillo de Jagua, Dry Tortugas, Eleuthera,...) and some smugglers caves (like Gibara). So it seems that each of those locations have a different level of difficulty: easy, medium and hard. It makes sense if plantations work the same way.

That is a reference to the west part of Grand Cayman, where North Sound and South Sound are located.

The Lesser Antilles won't be featured in this game, so no Leeward Islands. Sorry!

I can see myself doing around 5 of those a day though so maybe it won't last as long as I originally thought. That said we have cities which I keep forgetting about because they keep showcasing water and boats.

34 and 35 don't really fit Mexico, I feel they're closer to Belize. 35 fits with the location of Cerros, while 34 feels pretty close to the location of Belize City (known as Belize Town back then, which I could see as a small area to visit)

Lol, your life is so difficult and I feel for you. :P

You don't have to juggle two games. The new Batman game does look great and we had a chance to play it at Eurogamer. :D Anyway, just play one and then the other. I would recommend playing ACIV first though. :D That way you can avoid spoilers too. Besides, ACIV must be the game that is in the forefront of your mind. How it could it not be? ;)

" In 1717 Spain expelled British logwood cutters from the Bay of Campeche west of the Yucatán. This action had the unintended effect of enhancing the significance of the growing British settlement near the Belize River.[1]

The first British settlers lived a rough and disorderly life. According to Captain Nathaniel Uring, who was shipwrecked and forced to live with the logwood cutters for several months in 1720, the British were "generally a rude drunken Crew, some of which have been Pirates." He said he had "but little Comfort living among these Crew of ungovernable Wretches, where was little else to be heard but Blasphemy, Cursing and Swearing.""

Belize sounds more and more likely to me. I'm fully expecting Cerros and Belize Town.

Lol, it was merely speculation. I don't know how many there are or if that's the entire map.

Well, if that map shows 53 locations, there has to be many more icons than that. So, it could be.

I suppose it will all depend on how the map is uncovered and any icons along with it.

What's so fascinating about the leaves?? I know it's next-gen and you're excited.

If ACIV is as good as we're hoping it to be, I'm sure you won't be thinking about any leaves.

If you do end up focusing on the leaves, then there's definitely something wrong with it, whether it's current or next-gen... o_O

Leaves or no leaves. It certainly won't break the immersion for me. :)

Also, I know for a fact I will want to replay it and since Sony never give us backwards compatibility, it is inevitable. ;)

As for the backwards compatibility well there is that Gakai thing coming out next year so that's kinda good.

Nope, Port Royal would share map with Kingston, actually. Port Royal would be a shadow of its former self by the time the game takes place anyway.
I was guessing Port-Au-Prince at first but it's too much to the north to be. So that much is confusing.

Port Royal will be in the game, but don't expect anything other than a badly damaged fishing village. I also thought it could be Port-Au-Prince, but no. As I said back in page 3, that P is in the middle of the ocean. Imagine if it's an underwater city like Rapture. That would be awesome! :D

Maybe the underwater pyramids that were supposedly discovered around the area? If anyone would play around with stuff like that and add conspiracy theories and the such for the sake of storyline, it's Ubisoft. I can see that being the case.

You'e right! Some time ago the press talked about the supossed discovery of an ancient city on the Carribean floor "complete with roads, structures, and even pyramids". "The archeological remains of an ancent civilation" (aka, TWCB). It would be awesome if that was the case. http://www.andrewcollins.com/page/articles/city.htm

Príncipe is the northernmost and smallest one of the two major islands of the country of São Tomé and Príncipe lying off the west coast of Africa. It has an area of 136 square kilometres (53 sq mi) and a population of approximately 5,000.
