Hello all,

I am releasing my trailer for my next FB film "Red Stars Over Berlin". The trailer is about 5.5mb and is in a low-res .wmv format. This film is based on an actual Pe-8 bombing raid on Berlin that took place in August, 1941. The story behind this mission can be found at:

http://zhukov.mitsi.com/sovietbombers.htm

The full movie is incomplete and I would like to film the bombing sequence to the film as an on-line, IL-2 FB community project with members taking part as virtual Pe-8 pilots. The mission itself will tentatively take place on Sunday, October 19 at around 9pm Eastern Time on HYPERLOBBY. For more info, send an e-mail to me at the address at the end of the film. Just to let you know from the beginning, I would like players to have a broadband connection and be within a relative close ping range to my location ( Pennsylvania USA ). In your e-mail indicate your connection and location. Thank you.

You can get the trailer here. (http://home.comcast.net/~obrien110/rsob_trailer.wmv) Looking forward to as many as 14 pilots for this mission. Please feel free to post any comments or suggestions.

looks like this vid is going to be great,

too bad the pe8 failed as a heavy bomber because of its underpowered engines and airframe problems, it was basically used for a long range transport before they were scrapped http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

this game would be so much better if the pe8 and b17 became flyable even if the pe8 gauges arent historically exact

WOW!
Maintain that level of professionalism for the whole movie and you will have something special.
Good work /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

WOW....if that was only the trailer, then I will definitely d/l the full thing...like others have said, keep it that professional through the whole movie, and it might be one of the best that has ever been made. Maybe THE best.

Last time I checked them in FB they were all well and flying, and the frame seemed very stable (at least to a BF109) /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

One more thing we still dont have in a WW2 combat-sim: failures and dudes.
(And IMHO its better that way, or people would never stop whining and crying....)
But reading the text with the diesel-engines makes you think: this guys lost more aircrafts due to technical problems than to "friendly" or enemy's fire.

Just some thoughts - W75

The comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

The soundtrack I used in this trailer is called "Keys to Eleanor" by Trevor Rabin. I'm sorry, but I don't think Eleanor will make it in the final production. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

MysticPuma (and others)--as I mentioned earlier, the online Pe-8 mission will be on Sunday, Oct 19 at 9pm Eastern Time on HyperLobby. I will also hold practice sessions this Friday and Saturday nites around the same time, 9pm ET on HL. Please feel free to join--the practice session rooms will not be locked.

If you are interested in flying with us, I highly recommend taking advantage of the practice sessions on Fri and Sat nites. Thanks.

MysticPuma, check your PM.

Probably everyone knows the answer to this question, but how did you get that smooth panning from right to left just as the Pe-8 is taking off?

Hi JRH147, Davinci personally told me how to do this technique. You set up a static camera, goto the camera, and use your padlock keys (Shift + F6 or F7) to track friendly/enemy aircraft and the camera will follow. Yes, it is a nice smooth effect.
