Assassin' Creed should go back to Rome when its at its height and during Rome fall with an assassin that is either a barbarian that attacks the Templar city or roman soldier that use be a gladiator that fought for his freedom who helps and protect Rome from Templar threats. With the barbarian, you have barbarian spiked club, double sided axe, and etc with the desire to take the riches of Rome for him self and also destroy the Templar threat. With former gladiator, roman soldier, you have trident, cestus, scissor, sling or crossbow, and etc with the duty to protect your new city with your life, both being able to command a powerful legion of warriors.

I'm hesitant to agree simply because Rome was absolutely terrible in Brotherhood. I have no idea how they were able to make Rome boring, but they did. Otherwise, I'd adore this game.

.
The acre cathedral, if any, should been Romanesque, instead of 1300/1400s gothic like.

Nah. They've reworked them (sometimes quite extremely) to better suit gameplay. Which is a good thing; I'm not bashing on Ubi's city-creation skills, because they're top-notch. They're just not 100% accurate.

Indeed!

In fact, what kills Boston and NY- a favorite of mine- to a certain extent, is that are uber accurate.

It was just the steeple on that one church, and you can't deny it was pretty awesome to climb up that bastard and freefall for what felt like half a mile :D

Plus, the farther back they go in history, the fewer resources and documents they have to use as a reference. AC1 took place almost a thousand years ago, but with the far more recent AC3 (which also had the benefit of taking place after the Enlightenment) they were able to get basically flawless architectural maps to show them exactly what the city would have looked like during that period.

Reasons!
-The short burst of speed thing was stupid.
-Fighting on Horse back was non existent.
-One shot from a guard and your horse was down in seconds.
-After getting off your horse it would follow you way too close often bumping into you.
-Horse whistle was considered "tool" and thus required the awful weapon wheel of AC3
-They often got glitched into the ground.
-Horse jumping was awkward!
-Bad control
-Glitchy
-Boring to ride
-It featured non of the 3 pillars of AC: It wasn't stealthy, you couldn't fight with it, and it was terrible for navigation!
Thats all I can think of for now...

Well, depends on what the game is meant to be. Some games are meant to be cinematic and linear. There's nothing wrong with that. Some games are supposed to be about freedom etcetra. If they turn out to be cinematic and linear.....
