View Full Version : Forgetting a spoiler in 80 days, How can I do it? (please help me) (no spoilers here)

So it's that time of the year again. Not only did we get the mentor thing spoiled, but some fun guys here spoiled big things about Hornigold without any warning (shame on you). So how can someone forget about this as much as possible? Anything from lying to myself, to absolute seclusion from any AC related material is acceptable. Just tell me anything. Absolutely anything and tell me your results if you tried.

P.S:
Don't post any spoilers, but is the Hornigold thing speculation or from actual sources? I know he's a pirate hunter and all, so it might have been a bit obvious, but still. I'd like to go into the game with ONLY PURE SPECULATION in mind. Even if my speculation is right, I don't want to go into the game with any facts spoiled for me. I want it to be the first AC game to not be spoiled for me. Please set my heart to comfort.

that Hornigold info came from the watch. It's fact. and probably revealed soon after we meet him, which makes it a non-spoiler.

No spoilers you say, what if I didnt know about *****gold.
I did (partially) but still..

My tip to forget the spoiler: Exit the forums right now, go on with your life, you will forget about the forums at all in a week or something.
But one thing is inevitable, when you are playing the game and the part comes that you know (the spoiler part), you will recognize it and it will still be spoiled for you.

well... I don't have access to the watch. So currently I have no clue what you are talking about, but sadly I did read some thing about Edwards mentor that I wish I could unsee/forget. so we are in the same boat partner. What I've been doing is not thinking about it and moving on until hopefuly within the the next couple of months I'll forget most of it. :S it might be wishful thinking though. You could also find something else to obsess over?

I have no sympathy with people trying to avoid spoilers, then reading thread's with possible spoiler in it's title.... Harsh, I know... but fair. My advice is to only read thread's with no spoilers allowed in them, which is nigh on impossible, or, not go on the forums at all!!!

It did? Wow, that certainly makes it far better to bear. If it did come from the Watch, then I'm sure it's basic stuff we know early on. Seriously, it's Ubisoft's own program, even if they spoil stuff it can't be stuff that is supposedly a twist or a plot point found deep into the storyline.

That's a bit comforting, but I'll try and forget it all together.

Remember guys this is a spoiler free thread. What I said contained no spoilers. They were basically nudges so I properly relate to the topic for those who are on the same boat.

When you have a thread about Edward's mentor, I expect spoilers about Edward's mentor. If someone posts a spoiler about anything other than Edward's mentor, then that's clearly a fault from their side. I know what I'm spoiling for myself, no one should spoil anything out of the argued subject, cause that would be indecency on their side. They can start a new thread and then I would decide if I want to see the specific spoilers in that thread.

Fair enough, I'm inclined to agree with you on that front... but what I've seen on these forums is that topic's change very quickly and very rarely relate to to what it was originally intended for.

Also many, many people don't follow the topic of threads - as you may know ;)

if it has a spoiler warning in the title - its a warning that there are spoilers - it may have drifted off topic - so reader beware.

best advice - avoid threads with [spoilers] in the title ;)

We normally start REALLY enforcing that rule a couple of weeks before release - with a dedicated spoiler warning announcement - anyone posting 'open' spoilers - we ban instantly.. etc etc

Them and those experts at The Watch. Everything I mentioned in the OP got spoiled to them. Seriously, that Watch thing needs to be moderated. There's no point in spoiling the game, even if it's only the basic, starting points. I am correct, right? Anything from the Watch is a plotpoint revealed early on? Ubisoft won't reveal deep plotpoints 3 months before the game, would it?

Deep respect for the mods. You guys probably know a thing or two more than us don't you? Maybe not after the game is released, but any leaks before the game is revealed you are aware of, right? Don't make us feel bad, man.

I have had the last 3 games spoiled - part of the job.. since I know others on the team have as well.

When the games are sent to reviewers etc - we are on constant watch - and read and delete a lot of threads, just so you guys don't see them ;)

we may miss some, but we do try our hardest ;)

Ubisoft would not post major spoilers, background information maybe..

Like I said, best to avoid any threads with spoilers - if you read them by choice - reader beware.

Damnit... it was working a minute ago! I think you are immune. It happens sometimes when your own electromagnetic field causes splitting of the memory erasing signal that irradiates your nuclei. The electron excitation is not complete either. I will have to determine the degree of polymerization, size of a solvation shell and of course some other microscopic structures. Stay strong and I will get back to you with a solution!!

Perhaps you should take a look at Chris' VX extrapolation series. They cover extensively what you're looking to do here.
Having read and analysed the texts, I can give you some advice.
The peer manifold dimension, as a rule of thumb, is equal to the interpreted output from the reverberation absorbed from the Mekastic wires which you should have cross-joined with ~1mm divergence in relation to the anchor.
Your inverted fourier transformation idea is possible, but make sure you don't take it of any feline animals you happen to have present, results have been inconsistent and it's generally not recommended. That said - with some tinkering it may be possible.
The implementation of normalised attractors is indeed possible, however you may want to hard-wire the trampoline to the electromagnetic oscillator and give us some results before attempting anything on your own, it's fairly risky.
Hope this helps.

zomg! You're right! What would I do without you? I will try that now!

It seems though that the second bioreactor is malfunctioning, too, because we need to provide the dividing cells with an adequate oxygen supply which must be balanced against the detrimental effects of hydrodynamic shear stress developed in the other stirred and gas-sparged reactors!!
Also, the subsequent sensitivity to the build-up of glucose and pyruvate metabolic byproducts and associated changes in pH must also be considered!!!

I shall try testing this at 88 mph!!!

I don't know about blaming yourself when there is no warning about spoilers sometimes or when a friend spoils something. Then again if you go looking on blogs or a side that gives you a full review/ summary on the game then yeah. you get what you get. : |

I just occupy myself with a lot of other stuff, don't play games that much, and eventually I just stop thinking about it. I don't think I could ever completely put it out of my mind though... there's always a remnant.

Sometimes I see benefits to seeing spoilers... it might give you new perspectives, make you ask new questions... the "spoiler" might play out differently that what you might've been expecting and even pleasantly surprise you.

But yeah, once I see a spoiler it leaves a footprint for good (not matter how faint).

superkootje became a watchman?

They invited me a month back or something, but I was inactive then.
Saturday I got my code for The Watch, however my expert status still hasn't been activated yet.
Mr_Shade gave me my signature on monday or sunday.

You get the title for contributing to the AC community be it by FanFic or videos or some other third form of contribution.

By pre-ordering ACIV - you should get a code for access to 'The Watch' as a user - if your retailer is part of the promotion - amazon / tescos / game etc are part as well as Uplay.com / ubisoft shop

If you didn't get a code - contact your retailer.

The experts where hand picked by the team from this community to update The Watch site - with interesting and unique information for the community.. as per the pinned thread etc
