English:

I can’t make it to a live event. Can I still participate in the Road to Paris?

Yes! We have two online qualifiers that will allow you a chance to compete at the World Championship in October. The winners of our online qualifiers will secure a ticket to Paris for the finals. The first qualifier will run through the month of July while the second qualifier will take place through the month of August.

What are the requirements to play in the online qualifiers?

In order to compete in the Road to Paris online qualifiers, you must have a minimum 1100 ELO and reside in one of the following countries: United States, England, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Poland, Canada, Hungary, China, Australia, Russia, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark.

Additionally, you must register for the qualifier here: http://road2paris.com/register/ (http://road2paris.com/register)

It’s awesome that this event is taking place, but I have no way to get to Paris for the finals. Is there any way I still play in this tournament?

If you qualify for a Bid to Road to Paris World Championship then you will be provided with accommodations to Paris courtesy of Ubisoft. Accommodations include one (1) round-trip coach class air transportation for Winner from a major commercial airport near Winner’s home (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) to Paris and 4 nights’ accommodation at a hotel in Paris (nights of October 30th-November 2nd, 2013, standard hotel accommodation: one room, single or double occupancy, room and tax only).

Where can I find the full official rules for the Road to Paris tournament?

All rules and information for the Road to Paris event can be found here: http://www.road2paris.com/rules-info/ (http://www.road2paris.com/rules-info)

Will “Swiss” or “Jackpot” tournament matches count towards qualifier totals?

No. Only normal duel games over 1100 ELO will count towards your leaderboard ranking. Matches played in tournaments, practice mode, or any other mode other than regular duels will not be counted.

Can I wait until the end of the month to register for a leg up on the competition?

You can register at any time during the qualifier, but your entire months performance from the start of the leaderboard will be reflected. You have no reason to wait on your registration.

What happens if someone is cheating on the ladder?

During the Competition, Ubisoft may, at its own discretion warn, disqualify or ban any Entrant found to be cheating. If you suspect someone of cheating, you may send screenshots and information to road2paris@ubisoft.com (http://road2paris@ubisoft.com).

What happens if there if is a tiebreaker on the online qualifier leaderboard?

Tiebreakers on the leaderboard will be broken according to the player who has played the highest total number of matches. If this does not break the tie, there will be a sudden death, 1 game matchup between tied players.

Where can I find my current ranking in the online qualifiers?

Why are my results not updating on the leaderboard?

The online leaderboards may take up to 24 hours at a time to update. If you do not see your latest results reflected on the official Road to Paris website, please check back again on the next day to allow the rankings time to refresh.

Dzięki uprzejmości Ubisoft wszystkim graczom, którzy zakwalifikują się do udziału w Mistrzostwach Świata Road to Paris zostanie zapewniony transport i zakwaterowanie w Paryżu.

Gdzie znajdę wszystkie oficjalne zasady turnieju Road to Paris?

Wszystkie zasady i informacje odnośnie wydarzenia Road to Paris można znaleźć tutaj: http://www.road2paris.com/rules-info/ (http://www.road2paris.com/rules-info)

French:

Je ne peux pas me rendre à l’un des événements, puis-je quand même participer à la Road to Paris ?

Oui !

Hey Jason, thanks for this FAQ.

I don't see anything about a prohibition of multiple accounts. I could level up an alt and double my odds. I'm pretty sure this isn't allowed.

Only normal duel games over 1100 ELO will count towards your leaderboard ranking. Matches played in tournaments, practice mode, or any other mode other than regular duels will not be counted.
Games where only YOUR elo is above 1100, or should your OPPONENT's elo also be above 1100?

Good call out. This actually is covered in the official rules. Here is the wording:

6. Competition Rules

During the Competition,Ubisoft may, at its own discretion warn, disqualify or ban any Entrant, without prejudice for the Entrant, that notably (without limitation):

o Registers to the Competition with multiple accounts;
o Colludes with other Entrants to create an unfair advantage in any tournament;
o Uses any kind of cheats or hack;
o Does not comply in full with the current Rules;
o Has a behavior which, in Sponsor’s estimation, is unlawful, harmful, abusive, harassing, threatening, malicious, defamatory, libelous, untruthful, pornographic, pedophilic, obscene, vulgar, racist, xenophobic, liable to incite hatred, sexually explicit, violent, contrary to morality or is in any other way unacceptable.

Games where only YOUR elo is above 1100, or should your OPPONENT's elo also be above 1100?

It's games where YOUR elo is above 1100.

I understand how you feel, and I've seen other community members that have felt the same way. What we have found though is that no matter the decision here, with a month long qualifier there has to be some give. Would it be more fair to let players gain advantages throughout the month by gaining cards, and potentially rushing 50 games at the end of the month to surprise people and knock them out of top 16? There is still one more qualifier next month that you have time to prepare for :)

Hey Jason,

One thing is confusing me slightly. I've played 1 game after the leaderboards were 'reset'. It was on fridaymorning. 24h have surely past, even double of that. So why am I not listed in the leaderboard? IGN is in my signature btw.

Any possible explanation? :)

First rank is still not working properly because my score had not changed after reset.

Secondly, how can punish someone for points in rules that were added after the start of elimination?

I was expecting a reponse like "Theres always next time" Thanks for not disappointing. This is very frustrating. The rules clearly said "You need to register to play". I understand why you did it the way you did it, but its pretty dumb that that didnt come out until half a week after qualifying started.

There could potentially be a bug in the automatic updates. I'm actively trying to find out the answer for you. I'll update as soon as I have information.

This is a tough area as that there isn't any way for us to reverse a loss.

While this is a bummer and I totally understand frustration from a situation like this, there is one good thing to mention: The tiebreaker for the qualifier is the total number of games played during the month. This should help to offset situations where a player might a crash during a game.

yes, OK.
But i know the ppl who just play this 50 games and have luck. And win 48/50. They will not play more Becouse them wining % maybe fall down for every single lose.
In this situation, I even cant have better Win %. Its like playing next 100 games and think I will win all of this games. But I'm so worry becouse if on 20 games i have 2 crash what can happend when i will try play 100 games? Statistic its like 10 crash more?

this should be somehow resolved becouse i'm so frustrated right now...

And sorry for my bad - simple English. :)

You don't have to apologize for your English. I understand you fine. :)

You concerns are something that I have expressed to those above me as well. The best I can recommend at the moment is to make sure all your drivers are updated and don't have anything else running while you're playing. The less chance there is for a conflict, the less chance there is for a crash. I wish I could say something better than this. It's frustrating for me too.

Had my team look into this and found out there was an error in populating your information due to the capital letter in your name. It looks like you are listed as "durendal100" in the leaderboard and "Durendal100" in Uplay. For some reason, our system didn't like that. We're working on fixing that recognition for the leaderboard. In the mean time, your record as sits right now is 58-11 win-loss. Nicely played.

If anyone else experiences issues with the leaderboard PLEASE let me know so I can have it resolved. Much appreciated :)

When will be an update for the bracets, I´m totally lost what is count and what´s not. Also it would help us to know what to aim for.
Currently I´m still far from my form. But we´ll see the outcome ;-)

I think the leaderboard didn't refresh, or I can't see it. I still see the same stats since the update that was 3 or 4 days ago.
I don't know exactly where I am, should be around 40 wins for 3 loss (sure for the losses, not for the wins), so it's important for me now to know my exact score since I'm approaching the 50 games cap with a good winrate!

I have a question if I win immidietly after the game starts (surrender of my opponnet on start) does this win count?

BTW. I have the same problem as Therkis leaderboard didt refresh for me. I keep my wins on a piece of paper and its 13 win and 1 lose. Hope u will fix that soon :)

Or maybe I didn't understand this part?

No. Only normal duel games over 1100 ELO will count towards your leaderboard ranking. Matches played in tournaments, practice mode, or any other mode other than regular duels will not be counted.

Do the opponent need to be over 1100 ELO too for the duel to count in the leaderboard road2paris?

Interesting shifts in the leaderboard over the weekend. Things sure are tight near the top! Remember that the total number of games played is a tiebreaker for placing in the top 16. Also, placing inside the top 16 will determine seeding for the qualifier tournament.

In tie for more game played or less games played?
I´m lacking time and will not try to compete with others that have more time pushing their games. But it would be fairer overall I admit.
Well I´m also not through with my 50 games, so there are many games to lose and and further lose will kickme out anyway as far as I can see now...

If it comes down to it, the more games played with the same win % will be higher seed. A 90% win rate over 50 games is pretty darn impressive but a 90% win rate over 200 games is even more spectacular. This is already coming into play in a few of the lower seed spots. The last two weeks of this qualifier will be highly intriguing.

why the winrate % is so imprecise ? using whole number ...

90-10 is 90% winrate
48-5 is 90,56% winrate.

with your way to do, the first result is better than the second ? f*uck logic

Wrong, cause 48-5 is 91% winrate in this system, if I´m not mistaken!

it's why i am asking, we need clarification.

About win rate questions:

Win percentages are rounded up. For example, goodjob666 is currently ranked 14th on the ladder with a record of 58-6. This would be 90.62% win rate. His win percentage is currently showing on the site as 91% due to rounding up.

I hope this helps.

@Harmbringer: Crashes are one of the most frustrating things for us to deal with. There isn't any way for us to cancel out a loss generated from a crash. Think about it this way, if we were have a way to edit a loss then people could try to purposely find ways to crash the game if they were about to lose. It just wouldn't be fair. There is a good thing here though! With the new patch coming out before the next qualifier, the game will be more stable. Additionally, stats will be reset. There will be plenty of time for you to try to qualify :)

Hey Jason,

i got a question regarding the tiebreaker-situation u mentioned in the FAQs.

How "equal" does the win-percentage have to be, to be called a tiebreaker?
the complete number or only without decimal places (like the win-percentage is shown in the ranking) or somewhere in between?

When do "more games played" count? =)

Full rules: http://road2paris.com/wp-content/uploads/Duel_of_Champions_Origins_Road_To_Paris_Tournament _Official_Rules_3July13.pdf

Finals for July qualifier will be held between the 1st and the 7th of August. Here are the rules for the July Playoffs:

 Players will be able to edit their decks between rounds of the tournament, but not between individual games.
 Participants are then paired up for the first set of duels:they have to contact each other and find a suitable time for their duel together, within the time frame set by a community manager. If a suitable
time frame cannot be found, they need to send an email to the specified email account.
o All matches(except semi‐finals and finals) will be played in best of 3 duels.
o The semi‐finals and finals will be played in best of 5 duels.
 After the duel, the winner must send screenshots of the victories to the specified email account to validate the victories.
 In case one player fails to join the game at the specified time, the other player must take a screenshot of the game open at that time, send it to the specified email account and he will be declared victor.
 In the case that spectator mode is available, games can be supervised by DoC community staff and results recorded by the member of the community team.

quick question regarding the playoff-games:
is it allowed to abuse the "week of austerity"-bug??
are decks that uses "week of austerity" forbidden or this bug to "minor" to be called a bug?

think wisely =) if u allow to play the event, there will be only/A LOT belials, yukiko locks and dhamirias. if u dont allow it, there will be (almost) no stalling-typ of decks - anyway ur descision regarding this bug will have great impact on the meta in this tournament

@Jason: I know its a topic u would love to not comment on but there is no way around an official statement on this:
Is it allowed to use "week of atherity"??

At this point for me its not allowed, cause its a known bug and a use of this card would be "exploiting a bug" just like the craghag - although its not as gamebreaking as craghag.
But I can understand that other players think that they can use the event.

atm I really dont care how long u need to fix it, I just wanna this:
WEEK OF AUTHERITY: ALLOWED OR NOT ALLOWED??? PLZ GIVE AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT ABOUT THAT!!

PS: why did u asked for our possible playtime for the tournament, if u declared today night as the deadline nonetheless although i mailed u that i cant make it this weekend??
