Last time i saw nearly finished pics of CR.42 cockpit and external done by Xanty, is there time to put it in January addon?
I'm really looking forward to flying this Fiat and the G.50

I'm not concerned about the release date. In fact, I'd prefer to push this release date back to alow sufficient time for additional aircraft (and maps please !) to be completed.

So, its not the date but the content.

Mtn.

He he he...

The add-on will be released about May and won't even include the aircraft said to do at first...

We'll have instead a DC-3, a Douglas Dakota, a new version of C-47 with cockpit calefaction and Vanuatu markings, and a suicide Yokosuka Ohka for whiners and online vulchers. VVS planes will include Doom's BFG9000 weapon for online game balance, and there will be two new maps: a vision of the fields of Kentucky, and an extraterrestrial landscape.

Offline campaigners will find nothing new, but DGen will work only until September 6th and only in latest ATI cards with the 1997 drivers.

It will be a stand-alone game, the name will be "IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Keys" and it will cost just 67$.

In order to know more about this project we will be promptly informed of... BoB development.

I don't think it'll happen, but i'd love to see a flyable Fiat G55. One of the most elegant aircraft of WWII, IMO.

I have read plans that some will do Fiat G55 after Mc202/205 is done.

I would prefer Re2005, i know less of them were made but they saw more service before the armistence.

Hi people:

Thanks for showing oan interest on this plane.

I am not very much aware of what is going in or not, but as far as I know, the model was finished, the external made into the game some months ago (as AI I presume) and then, some few weeks ago, Oleg received my cockpit and his team inserted it on the game engine (as we saw on a dev. Update). This means that the 3D is there.

Now, he and his team are probably programming the plane and sourcing docs for performance numbers and details on avionics/stats and all that make the FM.I am just a 3D modeller, so I didn't find much in that respect, and gave that burden/work to Oleg. This could slow down or even delay it's inclution on the Add-on CD. I know they are trying, but they may need our help.

If you happen to have any related performance info about the Fiat Cr.42 (not just some vage stats...I mean curves, engine behavior at heights, engine stats and diagrams, rel useful things), please email it to Oleg or PM me. Your help and patience is apreciated.

Regards

Ok thanks Xanty, but why only Hungarian air force?
Yes i know they operated the Falco on eastern front but with Regia Aeronautica we can prepare for BoB sim with Falco vs Hurricane. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi again:

Only Hungary used the Cr.42 on the Eastern Front. Rumania used them as trainers, and used maybe some Cr.32 on the first days of Barbarossa.

Italy used the Mc.200 and 202.

Yes, of course you are free to use them against Hurricanes (BoB) or agains P40/B.239 (North Afrika) /i/smilies/16x16_man-happy.gif

You should all come to Belgrade Airspace Museum where the sole example of Fiat G50 remains. It is still not exhibited but it can be seen in the depo. There is one Fw-190F8 from SG2 next to it. Nice bunch.

in RAF Hendon Museum i think i saw a Cr42 in Italian Markings, i may be wrong. But they dont usually paint them with non historic markings.

also there was a great African Campaign Tigermouth p40 Kittyhawk /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
