I have made an earlyer post on this and most missed the point for those that got it thank you . I will try again.
the external camera distence from the aircraft in the ACP has been moved back this results in the effect of the planes looking smaller on external veiws that in turn make the game feel less emersive to me as before MY QUESTION IS:
were can I reset the default camera distence for external veiw of the aircraft. so i dont have to use my mouse to make the camera move in i like it the way it was before AEP.
i have tryed the hook view- confg @ defalt len@ 60 but no change at all any ideas??

Delete, End, and Page Down work as zooms by default. A little easier then reaching for your mouse.

I haven't had a problem. I notice sometimes the veiw starts far away, but once you mouse it back to where you like it it is there every other time I go to externals.

Ok. In your control assignments, you will see that you can reassign the delete, end, and page down keys to different field of view percentages. I think I set my 'normal'/end key to 55, which makes thing just a bit larger. Just remember to hit the 'end' key when starting a mission.

I hear ya Raven, the default distance is definitely greater. I noticed this as soon as I spawned in the first flight of AEP.

Not thats its a problem, but I DID in fact notice it, unlike others will care to admit. Sure you can zoom in, but then the wings extend out the side of the monitor!

Do take some pictures and show us the default distance....

who cares!! just zoom / mouse around / change view angle.. you can view the aircraft from any angle you wish folks it's a **3D** game!

Yes but its very Very annoying to do that Everytime you switch to another Freakn plane just to get a better look at the skin. What happened to the other thread like this?

S! wor_raven,

Look in your config file and see if you find the section listed at the bottom of this post. I haven't got Aces yet as I'm in Australia but I believe this is where you can adjust the default external view length and angles off etc.

Don't shoot me if it isn't just have a play with it after you back the original up http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Good luck and remember to reply with some results so the rest of us get an idea how it all works http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Take a look at the picture VMF-214_Havok has in his post.If the frame was your moniter, that's about the view distance that would default by hitting the chase view or external player view key, that distance would stay locked letting you see other players and planes,it would not affect the cockpit view just externals. There used to be two distance's before tuesday, alot players dont seem to know what wor ravens taking about, probably they didnt use the feature.I know I did,and the funny thing is going back and reviewing my old NTRK's the distance has been changed.Looks like maybe Wor raven and myself were the only two players that ever played the game with these closer external views. But if any one would like to know what were taking about just load up the original Il2,hit the pad lock external other player then hit view external own aircraft and you will notice that the view comes in closer.that distance will lock and let you see other players and static cameras and not revert back to a smaller model view every time you change to chase view or other player aircraft views.

nope i noticed it too but i just followed tisqua advice.works for me,cheers.

After it was refeuled i climbed in.With many manipulations the mechcanics started the turbines.I followed their actions with the greatest of interest. The first one started quite easily.the second caught fire.In no time the whole engine was on fire.Luckily as a fighter pilot i was used to getting quickly out of the cockpit. The fire was quickly put out.The second plane caused no trouble - Adolf Galland (first time in a ME262)
