I hope there will be a mission building programe in Pacific Fighters. That and the 1% aircraft is what makes CFS2 the only sim to date that I fly.

I do like what is being done with Pacific Fighters and if it is as good as what I think it will be then I will be retiring CFS2.

oh.. dont thank me - I'm just another forum poster...but I own Il2 Sturmovic - the original title in this series and it has a mission builder interface as does the Forgotten Battles CD and the Aces expansion pack for FB... so it follows that Pacific Fighters will have it. Besides, the Developers have said we will have it. You should look into purchasing Forgotten Battles Gold pack if you dont already have it.. you will see what PF will be like.

Hehe...be sure. You like that don't you heywood http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The mission builder in FB is quite good. Its not too complex and it doesn't have alot of extra features but it does everything very smartly and its easy to use once you get it.

So I expect PF to use the same thing...almost identically so.

Hey Robert, I suspect most folks don't like tackling the complexity of the FMB (Full Mission Builder.) It's a freaking great tool but does take a few hours to master. All the best, LongHorn

Bring it on the more it can do and the more options it has the better I like it.I just finished the mission that Maj. Smith flew on Aug 24TH 1942 in The battle For The Southern Solomans. It took about five hours to build.Durring that day alone there was a shelling of Henderson Field around 02:00 which I have in there as well as the early morning CAP, patrolls by the SBDs and the noon raid.It all took about 12 hours to build.

Well, the FMB in FB is good, but it is not as exhaustive as the one in CFS2. In CFS you can have triggers and random events, where a simple action or percentage of chance determines whether an enemy flight shows up or not. That is missing in the FB mission builder. No random events. In CFS2, you could create a flight of Zeros in one sector and another flight in another sector, and make one appear if the other didn't. In FB, you create an enemy formation and that flight will show up the same every time you fly that mission.

I really wish we had Opereration Flashpoints mission builder for PF... now that would be great.. easy and very powerfull.

Robert - it sounds like you know your way around the PTO pretty well - I am sure the FMB will be to your liking.. and I for one look forward to any mission you might decide to recreate.

Capn Jack - triggers would be nice... but I like the idea of using it to recreate actual historical events and then tackling the situation from my side in different ways to see how various tactics will work against a 'fixed' opponent or attack.

Well I finally got through Aug 25 1942 on Guadalcanal. To build the missions didn`t take to long but to get them correct the way I want has taken two weeks. Now I have to build the navy air battles that took place durring The Battle For the Southern Solomans.Which are sepperate but can be intergrated into the campain.
