A western style assassins creed MIGHT work out. The desert would be sort of a frontier thing. They probably could not do naval warfare though.

What's with you and abstract places to put AC? Leave the West to R*.

Heck no.

all 15 buildings to climb. No trees to run. the combat would completely useless so it would become a shooter. AC horses blow.

Nothing can beat R*

I'd rather have a WWII game than this

Have you seen the west? All of those sandstone mo.untains and plateaus, the sharp cliffs. I agree the BARREN part of the desert is dull, but that is what fast travel is for

What is it with people and thinking that the west is just a flat and barren landscape? And no, stealth can play a role in the west. Are you forgetting gold mines? Sandstone cliffs?

If so how old are you 150? So you're saying we should climb mountains and fast travel the rest of the map?

The Creed should be spread to all reaches of the world, should it not? Maybe not west, I guess, but new ideas always come to me.

No, do you spend all your time in the frontier? Are you forgetting the grand canyon, or do you spend all your time on the xbox? There are a lot of rock formations and there is the Colorado river, too.

There are a lot of rock formations and there is the Colorado river, too.Well lets leave it to RDR then, exploring the Grand Canyon in AC would be as boring as a game in the American Revolution hehe.

Enough from me. Where do YOU want the next AC to go?

No. Aside from the lack of buildings and such as others have noted, a Western game (AC or not) has to freaking NAIL the horse mechanics. And we all know how AC's horses are...

I saw that fan art, and I like it. The French Revolution happened soon after the American, so you probably can meet Connor.

I love it when people find common ground. Yes, so I guess it might have been strange to go for western, but I'm just so thrilled for the next setting though.

I agree that there are plenty of great places to climb out west and it's def gorgeous, but with the horses, guns, and lack of buildings, it won't really be an AC game.

haha of course we are about to get a game were we the biggest map is mostly ocean.

As for the next game. yeah I want the French Revolution as a true Next gen game. I want it to be a new character, possibly a Kenway (Jenny's son or grandson??) and have Connor make an appearance

There are actually some places in the RDR towns where if you can make it onto the roofs, you can do some limited free-running.

And it's ****ing boring.

Penguin Creed: Nothing is Hot, Everything is Regurgitated.

XD Cheers, good sir.

Seriously though, I was looking for a "No! God please no! NO! NOOOOOOOO!" option. There is absolutely no reason to make AC a western. (Although I suppose the same could be said of pirates :P) Hardly any buildings, huge empty tracts of land, every fricking character has a repeating firearm, and tbh, I think there's no way a cowboy assassin doesn't wind up looking ridiculous. Even if there was anything to compel me in a western-set AC game, RDR has effectively ensured no third-person western game can ever measure up. Besides, this would really hammer home some of the awkward similarities between post-AC3 Creed games and R*s earlier work.

I like western games too, but no reason to shoehorn the theme onto a series it doesn't fit. Just wait for Red Dead Redemption 2/Red Dead Revolver 3--it's been tacitly confirmed for PS4.

When you say 'western', how 'wild' and how 'west' are we talking about?

Because it seems to be that people have the same thing they had when they first heard of the Caribbean setting, like, there are no normal cities there at all... But, like, let's say, this is San Francisco circa 1850, during Gold Rush (the population started MASSIVELY expanding there, it went from 30,000 to 300,000 in like 30 years I think, which means that we could have a lot of 'in construction' buildings for more interesting free-running). So, depending on which location and time we're talking about exactly, it could work. Also, on a side note, gold rush could work as a cover to find some TWCB artefact or something, in terms of storyline.

Didn't Read Dead Redemption already Cover Frontier Wilderness / Desert plains / Canyon rockies / Rivers / Railways / 2 Different countries / random events/ Open world single & multiplayer ??
Great DLC in an open world equal to main game.

I Love AC , But after R* outing - Going to the wild west would offer very little.

Imagine how good a R* pirate game would be...

Or a rockstar Victorian London game during the peak of the industrial revolution. Maybe make a spinoff of Sherlock Holmes but a more gritty, immoral character.

Or even a Rockstar American revolution with actual battles and you lead you own guerilla platoon

No, Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia, during the Chiquisaca revolution of 1809.
