Has anyone else been inspired to learn Italian after/while playing Assassin's Creed 2 ?

I already knew a little. Enough to kind of get the gist of what they were saying without subtitles. But no, I didn't want to become fluent or anything, although it is a very beautiful language.

I've wanted to learn Italian my whole life, and I still am. AC2 was good for teaching Italian swear words, which I legitimately still use :p

Yes. Though it got over used in the later games. By that time Becky should've fixed the bugs.

To be fair, she couldn't do anything with the Animus in Revelations since Desmond was vegged out. She installed all the software updates she got during the events of ACR at the beginning of III.

Although by that logic, it makes no sense that we could understand the Turkish in ACR, since the 2.0 software couldn't even translate French or German... Nor does it make sense that Ezio could communicate with the Turks even though he didn't speak Turkish... Or that he sang songs in Italian, and they rhymed when translated to English...

I think it's best not to read too much into this :nonchalance:

I wouldn't mind taking Italian up as a language, I pickied up a couple of nice profanities in AC2.

I'm kind of a language geek and have been since I was a little kid. I'm really interested in different cultures, languages, and world history. I've kind of been investigating a language per season of my life. For instance middle school and high school were Spanish, the past 2 years have been Japanese, last summer was German, and I'm going to start looking more into Korean soon. I really fell in love with Italian after hearing it in AC2 and now I'm studying it :)

btw I'm an Anthropology/History major :)
