I recently read somewhere that an option above "Perfect" will be availible to those with the upcomming Nvidia Ultra 6800 video card in PF.

Does this mean that the highest grafix setting will only apply to those with the aforementioned card, leaving us ATI card holders in the dust. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/cry.gif

I was thinking about the ATI x800 Pro due to the fact that I don't feel like spending $150.00 on a 480 watt PSU, which is required for the Ultra 6800 card. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

???

They meant equivalent performance, not the specific card.

No. The honest truth is that they have said absolutely nothing about requirements for anything. However, the comments coming from people who asked peoples at displays were that there was a 6800 running under the hood of the machine and that was the one that was capable of dealing with the sophisticated wave graphics and other goodies.

It may end up not really being truly playable even on that card. So I wouldn't entirely count on it. The other main point is that the 6800 comments are directed at power. Anyone who looks at the comparisons between the 6800 and the X800 from ATI will see that the two are very closely matched.

No where have their said that the ATI card would not do the job. MY guess is that it will...at least in terms of the paper specifications (and thats still really for both cards since neither are available in any great quantities yet).

I've got a 9700Pro that I'll stick with for a while yet. Should do the job.

As long as you dont need DX9.0c, the Radeon X800 should work. Technically if it doesnt require DX9.0c any ati card back to the 9500 would work. My guess is you will need the super new stuff to actually make it playable though.
