When Cross, Connor, Haytham, Ziio, Lady Maverick, Elenor, Shao Jun, Nikolai and Juhani are in the game, then maybe I'll by it.

It is pretty odd though how the Avatar is Ezio Brotherhood, but the skin is Ezio ACII.

Direct cut & paste from well known existing AC screenshots was a giveaway - along with 'Ezio' leaping from a platform in the background arena , while ezio & altair fight in foreground.

A little manipulation of the character poses might have made a more convincing fake .

After Sony's horrid PSN all-stars release, it's really unlikely. Isn't the market already saturated with these brawl games anyways?

To everybody's saying that this is fake... please, take a look at the line beneath each picture: 'Concepts and Ideas ... NOT AN ACTUAL GAME'. I.e., yeah, it's stated right there that it's NOT screens from an existing game. Though it doesn't mean that it's fake, I don't think that it's that far of a stretch to presume that it was an actual idea flying around in the midsts of UbiSoft.

This is standard practice before making a first prototype of the game: make a certain amount of images (usually by photoshopping a bunch of different assets together because it feels more gamey than quick concept sketches) to capture the feel and supposed look of the game. Sometimes used as pitch material in presentations (depending on how company handles pitches).

Sorry , it just looks like fan-art hoax stuff ............. Even as quick concept image for a proposal - If actually genuine , Ubisoft would have a much larger library of images to use & make much more proffessional looking concept images .
They wouldn't need to use this image below as a blurred background for the fight arena. - The screenshots are just fan-art 'WHAT- IF' images - fake, not Ubisoft's

I fail to see how using a blurred screenshot for background for a quick mash-up for internal use to convey a general feel suddenly makes it fake. It's supposed to be for INTERNAL use. Nobody in the whole studio would care if the background is from a screenshot. It's something to look at for 5-10 seconds to make a decision, 'hm, this might work' or 'I'm not sure this will work' while a person is talking about what the concept is.

It's not promo material. Plus the whole point of pitch screen-mashups like this is to make them QUICK, you don't go searching through the whole library of assets to make some careful design decisions, you take the first thing that you see that works to convey the point of the concept.

This is very true. I mean I and others dismissed the Osiris concept vdieo because they had stolen a scene from the movie 300. However that turned out to be real. Basically they just glue together random things to get a feel for the idea. Well I guess I don't need to tell you these things, but yeah.

The lack of an attempt to AT LEAST make this look legit, makes it more probable that what you`re saying is true...

The maker of this did not intend to fool anyone with this pic, given the pretty good photoshop, if he`s that good, surely he would`v tried harder to make this look reputable..

I just want to be clear that you all saw this part that was stated in his Linked profile as it seems some of you may think it is real.

"The Assassin's Creed : Duel" images I made should be considered as fan art. They were not commissionned by Ubisoft, and are not from a real game.

YES For 'Concept Video' i know they understandabley use quick mash up footage .
But for 'Concept Screenshots' ......... I Believe MORE effort would be made to look genuine -
I mean , a Ubisoft Developer should have a genuine Background / Location image close at hand shouldn't they ??

Clean background location images should be easier to find for these guys than a google search , SO Official Ubisoft guys Wouldn't NEED to use promo background screenshots to make 'new Concept' screenshots .

I'm sorry if anyone actually 'bought' these concept images as 'genuine official' Concept work ....

Farlander1991

So it's been confirmed that those images were not in any shape or form commissioned by UbiSoft.

I still stand by that it COULD be real, because I've seen ****tier screen pitch-mashups for games that were eventually officially made (a number of different post mortems and talks included and showed those), and in this particular case the background image is still not a valid reason to call something fake (when the author says it's not real is a reason to call something fake :p )

yeahh... about this. I say nay. Lol! Is this about to become a playstation allstars/brawl for just ubisoft characters?

I don't think the arsenal is all that great to choose from. Well you have your far cry characters and rayman along with all 3 assassins? Oh yeah characters from splinter cell and ghost recon?

#Lame? I'm glad this isn't real.

I don't work in the game industry so I don't know. Farlander does (well he's a student) and he claims that these types of loose concept images happens. And I have no reason to doubt him. That this particular one turned out to be fan made obv doesn't prove a thing in either direction as I'm sure you understand.

I was never questioning the existence of cut & paste 'loose concept' images being an industry NORM .

I Questioned how anyone could believe these could actually BE genuine 'loose concept' images - Because i believe Ubisoft WOULD do a more polished job with the source images used - Even as 'Quick concept screens'.

This belief of yours is based on pure speculation if I understand correctly. Maybe it's correct, maybe it's not. If Ubi can cut and paste a vid I see no reason why they couldn't cut and paste an image for internal use. Since the only one among us who actually have insight into these things says that the image could have been real, I'm going to trust him more than you sorry.
