http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif great work .)

Any chances they model the push and pull propulsion system correct. It should give some advantage in turn.

High Ground is not only more agreeable and salubrious, but more convenient from a military point of view; low ground is not only damp and unhealthy, but also disadvantageous for fighting.

Please tell me this will be flyable...Lie to me if you need to. No, don't lie.

Said it a million times, I'll fly anything they want to make flyable. The more the better. Although I know some are angry about certain planes being included.

Great work! Keep it up, and keep us posted. Thanks.

That looks great, but make sure you put the pilots seat all the way foward, with his face smashed up against the gunsight. You know just like the FW190, or else Oleg won't put it in the game. If it by chance just happens to have a clearview from the cockpit, now way will we ever see it in FB.

Yeah, the bar thing might be an inconvenience. But it appears as though it was really there...so I can probably deal with it. Just being able to fly it would be cool. Doesn't it have some pretty sweet weapons?

I'm with DuxCorvan...B-17, V2, and some maps...that'd be sweet. Can't they let some third party folks make some maps?

335 is the ~one~ and only plane the "fantasy" Whiners have never cried about seeing in the sim someday.
Could be a deep and very interesting psycho-cultural reason why.

I thought this bird was cancelled...it's awesome to see the cockpit is under construction. I suppose it's a valid assumption that the aircraft itself is still being developed http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Would be alot of fun to fly in FB, especially if the engines are modeled correctly. Does anyone happen to have any stats available? I remember the armament of twin 15mm MG-151's and one Mk-103 through the spinner for the fighter variant, tri Mk-103 and twin MG-151's for the anti-bomber version. If I remember correctly, British pilots that flew a captured Do-335 stated that it flew quite favorably and nimbly as well for a fighter of it's size. But beyond that I don't know. Information on powerplant, and known flight characteristics would be appreciated http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The correct flight model should include a high speed porpoise, much like the high speed snaking we get (we do get the snaking, don't we?) in the 262 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif .

You better ask Oleg and his team this question.
I played Il2 from the very beginning and I cannot understand why such elemental Eastern Front planes like Pe2 or Hs129 are not flyable in the game after x patches and two major updates (FB and AEP)...

As long as such work is done by 3rd party developers, I don't have so much problems with it.
Of course I'd prefer a D520 or a flyable Hs129...

Well, the Do-335 is not a Luft 46 aircraft. It first flew in 1943 (woulda been 1942, but Hitler was obsessed with the fighter/bomber thing as with the 262, and development was delayed a year), and the first production models reached the Luftwaffe in November 1944.

Yeah and reading the book the big Show by pierre clostermann, he runs in to one in march or april 1945 and cant shoot it down because of its enormous speed,so no fantasy or luft 46 plane here, the germans used it as nightfighter with radar also.

The Do 335 just made it into operations, but never saw combat (although it seems it avoided combat at least once).

Just as an aside (well, two asides really), that twin-'335 would be a four-engined fighter, no? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
And Hitler did not seriously delay the Me 262's introduction into service - it annoys me how often this myth is quoted by people. Hitler's infamous edict delayed the Me 262's introcuction to active service by about two weeks. The Junkers JUMO 004 turbojet and the problems involved with finalising the design for mass production delayed active '262s by far, far longer.

Well, whether or not the Do-335 should be considered a valid addition or not isn't really our concern. Although, I would far prefer that other aircraft are attended to such as allied bombers that fly faster than 200kph (yes, I know, they are coming - a full 3 years after the release of IL-2!!), and others such as the Hs-129, etc, before these more exotic aircraft get in, but unfortunately these 3rd party guys will model the aircraft they think are cool, so we're stuck.

But the Do-335, whether it saw combat or not, was in service with the luftwaffe from Nov 1944, and to me that makes it far more valid than a Go-229, or a Me-109Z, etc.

The worst in Fw 190 is not the bar, but the Frodo-like perspective. I'm kinda shorty, but even so, to have that view, I would have my legs hanging out thru the aircraft belly, just as in Fred Flinstone's car.

But it was done that way to hide the trick behind the curtain. From a higher point of view, they would have to put almost half the whole aircraft 3d model to be visible from the pit, consuming work hours, polys and frames. So, they sank the pilot in his seat like a thin-a$$ man in the WC.

Hope that isn't necessary in the Pfeil. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Turning in Do-335? Nope. This baby was very fast. Clostermann spotted one (he later found out it was Do-335) and started chasing it with his Tempest. Do-335 pilot turned on methanol injection and escaped with ease! Would love to have this strange bird in game and I would especially like having twin seat Do-335.
