I was planned to go to Quakecom to try do in FMB in Demo PF today but I forget today is Nascar racing at Watkins Glen that I must not miss see it. I wonder maybe one of you who work on PF, can you check if B-25 can put on CV2 to take off? Thank you.

Why would you want to launch them from the Lexington?

Historically, the only carrier B-25's were launched from against the Japanese was the Hornet CV-8. And you won't be able to recover them because they won't have arrester hooks.

The B-25s used in the Doolittle Raid were highly modified, and don't represent a "normal" B-25. A typical B-25(like what we have in PF) wouldn't be able to take off from a carrier. I guess Luthier could model special "Doolittle Raider B-25Bs", but I don't think he would take the time to do it. I'm doubting much(if any) flight data even exists on the modified Mitchells. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

they where lighter?
but carried alot of fuel, and some bombs
so us 25% fuelers for coops would be able to take off i think

Most(if not all) of the armament was removed, as was most (if not all) of the armor. Basically anything that was not absolutely vital was taken out. I seem to recall that even the bombsite was taken out, and was replaced by a very crude means of bombsighting. I can't recall just what it was though.

Makes sense.. In that most of the reason they had to lighten them up (mod) was so they could carry more fule.. By carry more file I mean they actually carried extra cans of fule on board and added them in as they went along.. Which I think was the mod part.. The ability to add fule while airborn from cans onboard.. So if we just use the 25% we should be light engouh to do it

I know that but Hornet not there so we can use that CV2 to see if can do. Of course, will try use less fuel and carry less bombs. Just for honor, glory and pay respect to General Doolittle. Of course, just part of stunt/darn to see if can do. Same thing Il2 play fly under bridge in any kind planes. Also there are some of USN carrier ferry P-40, P-47 and other non-carrier plane to take off from carrier to their new base as maybe attack target on their way. Also I know it is one way trip. Well, the ventral turret was removed on the B-25Cs (I think they were Cs), and a 60 gallon tank put in it's place which was refilled by hand from 5 gallon tanks in the air.

They all carried 4x500lb bombs (although the first 3 or 4 pathfinders carried incendiaries) and I think they carried ammunition to the tune of 100rpg, and they installed broomsticks painted black in the plastic tail cone in the rear.

Would definately be cool if they could add in the Doolittle B-25 (they surely can't have left out one of the most important events in the Pacific war??).

whit ye looking at, ya big jessie?!?!
