welcome to the SH3 Forums,

It is believed that a lot of perspective issues will be rectified for the final release of SH3.

The demo was a 'basic idea' of how the game will look but was by no means anywhere near the finished product.

The demo was to 'advertise' the sim to the E3 Expo as a viable and marketable premis, which it did quite well..it recieved a high award.

To reiterate; Attention to detail such as you have described will be perfected for the release.

As a memebr of this community, this issue along with others are what I/we have been striving for....100% accuracey !

regards

Welcome http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

oh, dude, in the video its a type VII or a type IX not a type II http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
I can't tell what model it is tho, the AA config is consistant with a Type IX but the single rear tube is a Type VII feature...
While I can't tell you what it is, i can tell you what it isn't... and it ain't a Type II http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Type IIC
http://uboat.net/types/illustrations/iic_2d.gif

and Type II's where NOT midget subs either, midgets had 2-5 men, Type II had somewhere in the area of 2 dozen men, it was a small, primitive, full sized submarine with 3 forward tubes and no deck gun... about 350 tons of old, old, old school(also ugly and bloated looking) sub http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

They look the same as the pic: bloated, ugly, old and nothing like the mysterious E3 Boat
Which, after going through the u-boat.net types page (again) looks like the Type VIIC/42!

i hope i'm wrong since none of those where ever built http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif so either i'm wrong or the dev team has their boat designs mixed up... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

i think if it woz a type 7 it would have the famous and cool red paint and be bigger unless it woz just a testing boat made for e3 and any demos comin out if they are

Peace dude (LOL) i love annoying hippys

lol, yea it doesn't have the cool paint job, looks like we have a "franken-boot" the devs salvaged form spare parts to make a video with http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

and it is big! it must be as long as the CV that attacks it, if not longer, check after the 4 minute mark on the demo vid. its no small sub http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

yeah, i think the rear-firing tube sequence makes its appearence in a couple of the trailers.

I resently got a book about U-boats and I'm pretty sure the boat in the movies is a late model type 7 with bridge conversion 4.

no reason for dev' team to model Type VII C/42 - externaly identical - minus offical and unoffical after deck config's.
Only proposed to carry an extra 2 fish, with a higher grade of steel, allowing an operational depth of 280m's and designed crush depth of 400m's, but never got past the design stage, due to the Type IX boats.

As for the E3demo. The sub shown is either a Type VII C, or a Type VII C/41. Either way, its shown in the 1943/4 configuration, with extentended "Wintergarten", with DF aerial housing on front starboard of bridge, and radar housing on Port side. -Side note in this configuration the conning tower had armoured bridge casing (Splinter proof)
