... to put elevator trim on a mousewheel? I have a MS Trackball optical. Also, the thing has 4 buttons - any suggestions for mapping them? I already have an MS FFB2 and am using PF_Coastie's Profiles.... getting greedy http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif although everything is just about covered I think http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I have tryed this on my Microsoft Trackball mouse. It doesnt work well because there are no stop points. It gets very confused to where the position of the scroll wheel actually is and throws a lot of funky settings in there.

Please experiment with it and let me know if ya get it figured out. Its been a while since I tried it.

Good luck!

FYI... the story so far

Heh Coastie - know what you mean couldn't get it to work as a Trim control - I have the intellipont software installed as well - every time I "clicked" the scroll wheel it would drop me back to the ingame options (like hitting escape) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

However - all is not lost... next thing I tried was mapping throttle on it... lo and behold, that works... leaving the "throttle" on my MS FFB2 free to act as a trim control http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif and here's me thinking "trim on a slider" was a joke http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif

Not tested extensively cos I don't have time... maybe later tonight... only thing was I managed to bugger up all your lovely control maps (had to do a reset to defaults... ah well will just have to reprogram the keys in FB http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Had a brainwave to stop the "escape" click of the mouse wheel - go into intellipoint properties and change the action for the mouse wheel - "disable" it. This doesnt stop the wheel from working as a scroller in windows, which is about all I use it for anyways but it *might* sotp the freaky deaky "escape" press!

Will test more later

hope this helps
