Well i've played this mini game for hours and its way to hard to win, I had him down to 3 chips and i had 8 chips so it looks like i was going to win, This is what the computer game did as i tried to move my chips closer to try to trap him, he move the same chip in 2 spots as i am trying to move all or most of my chips closer to trap the computer, it didn't work he made a move that took out 5 of my chips, this is a mini game and yes i have learned how to play but still cant win because the computer knows what moves i will make.. This Fanorona game shouldn't be a part of a trophy if they made it this hard to beat so if your having problems like me send an e-mail to UbiSoft and maybe if enough of us do this they can have an update to make the game less hard and maybe the computer can make some mistakes and not be perfect with every move..
I almost have this game Platinum but this mini game is pointless..

Seriously I've had this same issue. It always ends with him wanting a draw because Ubi decided to program the AI to never make a mistake which would cost it a piece.
I'm seriously about done with Assassin's Creed games because of garbage like this.
I know it seems weird to be mad at a franchise because of a small part of the game but then again this is required to get 100% sync. Even GTA games are easier to 100% than this.
This terrible AI coding that makes you always lose minigames, and almost always get caught trying to do anything on a mission (failing the don't get caught achievement) and the worst level ever where you have to basically use a bug in order to get 100% (protect Washington's guards, kill 2 redcoats, and still kill that guy ALL IN SLOW MOTION) makes the entire gaming experience overall get sour quickly.

WAAAA WAAAA Game is hard WAAAAAAA

Its people like you that keep us getting **** easy games....go watch it on youtube or something.....many guides there....

If anything is pointless it`s the whinning about difficulty that does not exist......

Do you get a jolly from just trolling the forums?
Why not be helpful.
Oh because that doesn't grow your e-peen.

Why not admit that you`re having trouble because of YOU instead of blaming the game...it`s so much easier, right ?? and I actually helped...I pointed him to youtube.....You want me to hold his hand there because that`s difficult too ??

and Yes, I get a jolly from telling it how it is. Demanding an update to make the game is easier is silly......Look for guides if you`re having that much trouble instead of so conveniently blaming the game, because your ego is too **** massive to actually admit and ASK for help

Well let's see why you're wrong on many many levels.
1. Im far far far from the only one having problems with this
2. It is in fact a bad-programming practice for AI in a video game to never make mistakes. If you corner the AI down to just a few pieces it only moves one of them back and forth until you either inevitably give it a piece to capture, or makes you end in a draw. You can NEVER draw the CPU into making a mistake. That's a bad programming practice for video games, plain and simple.
3. Why not post a video of you winning. You have given nothing from your personal experience which leads me to believe you've never played or never won and you're just here to troll.

Or you just suck at the game, plain and simple....Yeah ?? I can give you videos of others winning as a bone for you to suck on until I can make a video for your highness of me winning so that I can prove you wrong and show you that you just suck at these mini games.....do you even know ANYTHING about programming ?? Obviously you can`t admit your inability......I help when help is asked for...

And again you`re just taking the easy path "You`re a troll"
HaH classic and predictable

Insulting people and being generally unhelpful is being a troll (or old forum lingo: flamer)
I actually am a programmer and something we learned in second year is that if you intend to make a program which interacts with humans, it is bad practice to make it have an inescapable error (loop), if it is a program intended to challenge the user it is bad practice to make it impossible for the user to beat the challenge, if you are programming an AI, the AI must make mistakes like humans do, and it is bad practice to design a program which does not have helpful info for the user.

So yeah, pretty basic programming concepts which have been violated with these minigames.
All it needs is for various AIs to have different difficulty levels and that would be the end of it, but since even the people on the ship are experts the player is forced to play on the hardest difficulty from the get-go without even learning it.

First off don't say people like you because i have 100 percent sync on AC3 and sure i like a challenge but this mini game Fanorona is impossible to win and as far as your comment about watching youtube i have and the A.I works differently, when it feel a lost it ask for a drew and when you dont drew he just moves the say chip back and forth so i tried to trap him off but he is able to get my chips if i get to close then some times i trap afew of his chips so if he moves i have them but it will move that one chip in the back and forth one time i did the same for 20 minutes waiting for the A.I to do something different it didn't so it just forced me to move ahead and he ended up getting me, i've tried this many ways and i learned how to play but still cant win, i even had some of my Skype friends watch me play and they seen what i was talking about, its just impossible...
BTW this is only a Bronze Trophy the same kind of Trophy you get for re-entering the Animus so this mini game shouldn't be so hard, the other 2 games was hard but a beatable kind of hard and i am fine with that..

Saying "go to youtube" in a belittling manner isn't really friendly or constructive.

There's a guide somewhere out there that gives you a few good starting moves, but after that the computer changes its tactics, so you won't be able to find a full walkthrough.
If you aren't having any luck, then try this:
http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/assassins-creed-iii/177959-fanorona-expert-easy-win-method.html

It's cheating in a way, but I used the same technique to do the Morris (I managed to trounce Father Timothy at Fanorona on my own, though only after several retries)

Hope this helps.

Not impossible, bro....

I`v won it many times....and so have many other people....seems possible to me

Sure you might have won at Fanorona in Boston or NY anyone can win those, the one i am having problems with is at the Homestead Manor and starting of the game isn't a problem its when he is down to 4 chips or less and unlike other board game where you can trap your opponent to the point where no matter what move they make you can take his chip, this A.I doesn't make mistakes so please stop acting as a know it all because most likely your just a no body that comes onto forums to give other gamers a hard time for no reason..

Thanks ill check it out but starting of the game isn't a problem, its at the end when the computer is down to afew chips and keeps asking to drew and for the A.I not to have a chip taken he moves one chip back and forth but ill check out the link once again thanks for being helpful unlike other people that come on forums to give us gamer a hard time..

I haven't played a lot of Fanorona games, but I've never had a problem at winning. And I've only ever played it at the Homestead. I always thought they purposely made Fanorona easy to beat as compensation for how difficult Morris is.

I've the same problem withthe game men's morris. I've the idea w're not allowed to win. BecauseI could make a mill. But I couldn't place my stone to complete themill; I could only press E to annulate my move. I think what'shappening is not fair. My opponent could complete his mill. It seemsas if I've stricter rules then my opponent. In this way I cannotcomplete all the challenges. How it's possible to win after all?
