A 5 pack?? Really?? I can think of so many artists that I'd much rather see a five pack of, both ones we've had already and had only a single track from, or maybe a 3 pack that would be much better served with a 5 pack than Fall Out Boy, but hey, maybe that's just me :)

I will pass on this pack 2. I hope someone likes it. lol RS must have gotten a deal on licenses for 5 songs. Just does not seam like a 5 pack type of band or music. maybe next week will bring something else.

Wow didn't think they would get a 5 pack but I'm happy about it.
Looks like I'll be needing more points than I thought,

Not a huge fan but I'll pick it up. Who knows, maybe there's a song I haven't heard before that I'll actually like! Maybe I'll learn something new! Or I could just bich about it not being a pack of (insert my favorite niche band here). Crazier things have happened.

Cool - wasn't expecting a 5-pack, although I haven't heard of the two tracks from the newer album I'll give them a listen.

5 songs, nice ! I don't understand how people can ***** about that. Nobody said there's a fix quantity of 5-packs per year. We don't get this "instead of" another group. More is always better !

Well if you like it, yes. I personally can't stand fall out boy, just don't like their sound but I am happy for those who do, nice to have a good mix of music. I won't be buying this just hope next week has something I like as I've not got excited about the DLC for a LONG time!

Seriously, with No Rain, the Foo pack and the Funk pack, all is forgiven for Nickleback and Fall Out Boy.

....or not so strange at all.

I think artists using games like RS to help "spread the word" about new or "renewed" careers could be a very positive thing for the game developers and users.

Exactly my feeling just looking at the videos. I didn't get a single Foo song, but I'll most likely get 2 or 3 of those (so most likely the whole pack given the price difference). Dance Dance looks very interesting. Btw, I also find Bottom's Up to be quite challenging and great fun to play, so screw popular opinions :p

I really like FOB. I have 3 of their CDs. Not a huge fan of America's Sweetheart, but I'll probably get the pack just because I like the other 4 songs. Certainly wouldn't have been what I would have picked as my dream DLC, but it's nice to have a group in DLC that I actually like enough to own the albums of.

seriously I must be missing something apparently FOB are really unpopular and disliked but for no ascertainable reason?? what gives? I saw this not so long ago with Nickleback as well take a look at ultimate guitars comments http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/fall_out_boy_will_save_rock_and_roll_this_may.html

for all the fact I'm not a fan I dont think I would go so far as some are blaming them for the downfall of R n R this started as soon as we got people like simon cowell and pete waterman running music companies and churning out production line music acts, that and the fact that too many of todays fans believe (or is is belieb??) if an act isnt just in or just out of school, sexy, commercialised and on their BFF,s playlist on flipper, tweetbook and brainspace then its not rock nroll. Thank god for bands like the stones, who ac/dc etc that have been around through the years and stayed (almost) true to the sounds that made rock what it is. I still have hope though my seven year old daughter knows most of the stones back catalogue word for word, loves alice cooper understands the words for ac/dc and knows lady gaga is just "pop"

Stupid homophobic metalheads on Facebook.

I find this more than a bit offensive, Just because someone does not agree with what you like as a choice of music and decides to have an opinion of their own, does not make them (A)Homophobic or ()B stupid. Rocksmith covers many genders of music, and there is something out there for everybody(with the exception of country music ).

I have to admit, I completely missed out on this FOB phenomenon in the 2000's. I went into an iPod-fueled cave for about 10 years, listening to nothing but all of my old 90's music.

Now that I've stumbled out of the cave, I can look at a band like FOB without all the preconceptions that apparently come with being overexposed to them. And I have to say, I don't see what there is to hate. Their songs are not just ****ed catchy, but the lyrics are fun and sometimes clever, and the singer has a great voice.

I remember Color Me Badd. I lived through Color Me Badd. I even sang along to Color Me Badd at one time (shudder). I just don't think Fall Out Boy is going to be a future Color-Me-Badd-esque embarrassment 10 years from now. I think they are legitimately talented once you get past this apparent stigma that surrounds them.

'I Don't Care' seems like it will be fun. I'll probably get it eventually. Alas, my Rocksmith time these days is pretty limited so I'm pretty far behind in the DLC category.

i haven't been into anything they put out since From Under A Cork Tree so, 2/5 of this pack is all i'm really interested in... unfortunate that those 2 songs from FUaCT are the singles. would've loved to see some deep cuts or at least ONE track from Take This To Your Grave or Evening Out With Your Girlfriend.

more (and preferably not so commercialized) pop-punk, please.

I think he was referring to the people on FB that were actually using homophobic slurs. That shouldn't be offensive to you unless you think those slurs are acceptable. In which case, you would be who he was referring to.

Actually I looked at the facebook comments and saw a lot of the same with people who did not like the fact that people did not agree or like this band, and that was the rhetoric that was used.

I think both sides were being a bit immature IMHO . It is what is is but no point id dragging it here is more of my point :)

Hey now I am 30 years old and not a huge fan of newer music today either. My parents played a lot of 80's music when I was a kid so I am a huge fan of that decade as well as some 90's with RHCP and Nirvana and The Offspring Some of FOB aren't bad listening too, but the guitar riffs from songs in the 80's was the reason I wanted to learn how to play a guitar in the first place. The reason I probably wouldn't purchase FOB is it doesn't have a memorizing guitar part to me, songs like Boston More than a Feeling and The Eagles Hotel California as well as Journey have memorizing guitar solos and riffs.

I'll buy this pack just based on watching the videos in the OP. Not familiar with the band (only recognized one song) but looks like a lot of fun to play. I'll wait until Steam has another sale. This Rivals thing is going to force me to buy some DLC I passed on previously.

Chensin

I've bought the pack and think it's great. For the beginner, there is a lot to learn in these on quick power chord changes and movement efficiency on fingering between chord changes and even some horizontal movement between multiple strings on some songs to get those fingers supple and used to moving both the anchor up and down the fretboard and curling in and out horizontally.

The Nickelback, Foo fighters and Fall out boy packs have been pretty good to learn with. Perhaps when I'm finding the basics too simple and all I want to do is play extreme solo's then I'll look upon these differently, but for now - it's a good pack to continue teaching me the basics and have fun with.

Exactly my point, it's all relative.

I bought the pack.

I admit, I told a co-worker (a 29 year old) that they were out for RS and I was going 'meh' and he said "hey they have a lot of good songs", and I replied "something about them makes me feel old. Maybe, Sugar...." Then I said, "They are too **** catchy; gets stuck in my head."

It is fun stuff, there is just enough punk rock in their pop for me. I still can't do MCR.

MCR's first two records were much more "punk" sounding. Black Parade was a bland attempt at infusing classic rock into their sound (IMO) and Danger Days... well, I don't want to talk about Danger Days. FOB's first two records were quintessential pop-punk for their time... FUaCT dialed it back and they did become more of a pop-band. Still fun songs with some hallmarks of pop-punk.

These two packs (along w/ the blink 182 and Offspring packs) give me mixed feelings. I like the bands, I enjoy the songs but I can't help but feel like all we're getting from this genre is "sell-out" singles. I can't really complain though... it's better than another pack from bands like Nickelback or any other modern hard rock.

Got to play "Thnks fr th mmrs" last night. It was a blast to play and I just can't help it... I love these songs. It was worth buying the pack. I would have bought 4, anyway, so "America's Sweetheart" became free... Excited to play the others tonight, maybe. I was unhappy to see TFTM was in drop D... It usually isn't an issue, but RS was really unhappy with my drop D playing last night. I almost went and got the Tele, just in case it was the Strat, but I didn't play long enough to do that, anyway.

No.

If you buy any 4 individual songs out of the pack, you would spend the same amount of money as if you bought the pack. On XBL, it's a savings of $3 to get the pack as opposed to the 5 individual songs. I'm pretty sure that's what he meant... just used the song title for the track he wouldn't buy.

Love this guy's videos. I notice he's gotten better since he first started posting them too. Love the pausing to take a drink schtick he always does, but I could do without his occasional stripping down to boxers.

I can't help but wonder how much time he spends on these...both in terms of practicing the guitar and in terms of shooting, editing, and posting the videos. What's the point of being young and playing guitar if there's no time left for girls? :p
