I ask you: what reason do people have to pay for games when paying your money for a game means you have a worse experience than those who don't?

I bought a copy of Anno 2070 and Deep Ocean addon. When I go on uPlay, and click play, my cursor goes to 'waiting', for 15 seconds, then a box pops up saying 'thank you for playing Anno 2070! Time played: 0 minutes'

What the ****ing hell is this?

If you're going to force paying customers to use filthy bloatware, can you at the very, very least allow them to play their games through it?

I want a solution ASAP please. Currently cannot play the game at all.

Hi there,

I'm sorry you are having problems playing the game:

Have you tried reinstalling the game / uplay?

If you have, and you have an active internet connection [for activation of the game etc] - then I suggest you contact support ASAP - who should be able to advise you further actions to try.

I'll try reinstalling it - that doesn't feel like the problem though.

Thanks

Sometimes a re-install of the Uplay client, can fix issues such as this, so that and a game install should be the first thing to try.

Support may well suggest you do that anyway - so if they do, please tell them you have already tried that solution.

Solved by reinstalling game and Uplay.

Still unhappy about the DRM.

Thanks for your help Mr_Shade

Hey I've had the exact same problem and uninstalling and reinstalling both Anno and Uplay hasn't worked. How common is this problem? Is there a different solution?

Running on Windows 7 64bit (recently upgraded).

Ok here goes. This is the second time now i have purchased Anno 2070. The first time l restarted my pc and loaded the game back on only to find out that when i tried to login using my details it said the code had been used and i couldnt play the game. Because this is such a cool game i decided to repurchase it, and the same thing has happened again. ive tried sending an email to uplay regarding this matter only to get 'there is an error on this page'. i re-entered all my details plus a detailed note and the same this happened again. I am at the end of my tether, can anyone help?

I apologize for the inconvenience. If you had already purchased the game, there was no need to repurchase it. If you are receiving this error, then the game may be tied to a different email or account. Please try clearing your browser's cache and cookies before accessing the Support site. Also, try contacting your region's Support by phone here; http://www.ubi.com/US/Support/InternationalSupport.aspx If you continue to have issues with this, please feel free to PM to assist you further.

ive recently brought a copy of anno 2070, intalled it and went to play. and as it loads uplaygame launcher asks me to log in. as soon as i do and click log in a box pops up saying 'uplay launcher has stopped working
a problem caused the program to stop working correctly, and windows closes prgram and will notify when a solution is availlable".
