I didn't see the new poll.

However I can tell you how I feel...

I feel it needs a Mig-21 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Sorry thats just my favorite of all time jet. Not because it's super just because of the way it looks, and the simplicity of it.
I pretty much dislike all modern jets starting with the F-18 even though I have flown the marine corps F-18 training simulator. The wall sized screen and full real cockpit was cool though.

S!

I know a few in our squad will be tempted - and it does look great - but im hard core prop sim fan. That means ww1 and ww2.

i was going to suggest a new poll yesterday as a matter of fact

it was going to be what theatre would you most like to see modelled next in FB (or forthcoming sim) or something similar - perhaps what plane would you most like to see - perhaps they have been done already though.

/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

i don't like jet sims

i think i'll go and cast my vote now....

vote cast (bottom one)

p51? isn't that tantamount to i'll stick with il2?

- but then again il2 doesn't have a p51 either /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif (yet)

One other problem with making a modern jet fighter sim. Coming from things I've been told from an ex-air force person who wasn't supposed to tell me.
Civilians do not have access to actual flight performance data of at least US aircraft I know.
Something is almost always withheld or skewed a little. Either a it's better than it's supposed to be to scare the competitors, or be it's way less as to keep your enemies off guard.
I can say this specs for the SR-71 Blackbird still aren't accurate in any book I've read.
F-15 specs are in the same boat although it's mostly electronic things vs performance.
The A-10 I doubt anything is withheld it's a low, and slow tank destroyer with a big cannon.

Still I'll most likely buy it even though I prefer vietnam era jets, but after playing Forgotten Battles I imagine any sim from the same line of creators will only get better, and better.

Plus I'm sure even if they have 100% accurate spec's it'll still be off. Close is all that can be expected although it's good enough for me.
Having seen the computers needed to run the marine corps F-18 simulator which is as real as it gets. I can say we are a long long long long long ways away from having a machine capable of modelling the exact flight characteristics of even one aircraft in the size that would fit under a desk.

I do think that at the moment compared to IL2, and Forgotten Battles. Lock-On is very short on the number of aircraft flyable. Although I'd say their choices are good as I didn't see a single one thats a jet I don't like or wouldn't want to fly.

Needs a few others to spice things up I think. Like a couple from the Korean war era, and the vietnam era.
The further back you go the less locking on you do though and it becomes learning how to dogfight in a jet.

Thunak, good to see a new poll at last. I realise that UBI has to try and get some commercial feedback from these polls, but could some of them be a bit more user-centred? e.g.

What flyable a/c would you want most in an add-on?
What new map would you like to see in an add-on? - I think we may have had this one
How many people use TrackIR, HOTAS Throttle, Rudder Pedals etc?
What improvements would you like to see in the FMB?
What sim would you like to have next?
Which plane is the most under/over modelled? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Just an idea. Please don't leave the current poll up for six months!

Ladies & gentlemen, this is the captain speaking. Thankyou for choosing to fly Mandarin Airlines. Those passengers sitting on the left-hand side of the aeroplane please make yourselves comfortable. Those sitting on the right... please look to your left!

Thanks for posting the results, Thunak, instead of just not saying anything, and letting us maybe come across it on the homepage. You are doing a great job with the communication, and I think that everyone here appreciates that. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Er,

is this not OFF TOPIC?

It's for another game, not IL2 FB. Just because its produced by the same company does not give them the right to blatantly advertise here on this forum, unless of course you are willing to let us discuss all other games?

I didn't think so.

Why can't we have a poll to do with IL2? Or is this the way things are from now on... I bet I won't see an Il2 question on the Lock On home page.

I suggest another one, very similar:

"Marketing poll: How much do you like Oreo cookies?"

a - A lot

b - They're my favourites

c - I hate them

d - MMmmmmm

e - This poll should be in Oreo's web page

"Sponsored by Oreo Cookies TM"

My vote: 'e' /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Sorry Dux, that's a terrible idea. Us Brits would rather have a biscuit poll about Rich Tea, McVities Digestives or the infamous Chocolate HobNob.
Cheers!
