I brought Far Cry 3 Deluxe Edition via Steam. After a long time waiting, the download was over. Steam said that I would need a Key to activate the product, I copied the CD-Key, a uPlay app opens, I put my login info: E-Mail/Pass:****, when I was asked to input the CD-Key, it said: "this cd key or activation code is already in use with another uplay account", I didn't know what to do, I checked and checked and it was all fine. After a few tries, my uPlay account gets banned AND I still can't believe that my CD-Key is in use with another account that is NOT mine.

Yes, I've contacted Ubisoft Support, it has been 4 days and nothing yet...

Hi BlackHalls,

Uplay PC CD keys are unique and can only be used once. Once they are used, they are bound to the account that was logged in at the time of initial activation.
You do not need to create a new Uplay account. If you are receiving this error, chances are you have more than one Uplay account. You can simply log in to your other known Uplay account(s) to find which one has the game registered.
Steam: Games purchased through Steam will not appear in the "My Games" tab in the full Uplay PC application. If you are trying to play a game originally purchased through Steam, you must first launch the game through the Steam application or a Steam game shortcut. Please make sure that the Uplay application is NOT open and running before launching the game through Steam.

1. Click the nameplate at the top right of the Uplay PC window.
2. 2. From the pop-up that appears, select Change user
3. 3. You will then be prompted to log in with your other Uplay account.

If you need assistance determining which account your game key is registered to please create a ticket to support by clicking on the “Ask a Question” tab on the top of the page at http://support.ubi.com/ for help with this issue.

Alternatively, you may call them. You can find the Support Team in your region here: http://www.ubi.com/US/Support/InternationalSupport.aspx

Please be sure to include your game CD Key / Activation Code when submitting a ticket.

For security reasons, you may be asked to call us at (919) 460-9778 (9am - 9pm EST | Mon - Fri) for account verification

Hi, what about second hand game DVD purchases???? how do I get it to work ???

LOLOL are you trolling? There is no "second hand game usage." Only the first person to use the game, acutally play it, can ever play that copy.

Unfortunately, once a serial key is used it is tied to that account forever. Second hand purchasing will almost always have this error and is considered in-use. Please contact the location of purchase regarding accessing the game with tied account.

I can't even play it anymore. I just downloaded it yesterday and it stopped working. Now, I don't know any unused product keys. I tried key generators and it banned me from downloading it because of a survey and sometimes dangerous files.

Hello sonphanbot100,

When you purchase a game through the Uplay shop, you should be sent an email containing an activation code/CD key which you can use to register your game. If you didn't receive one with your purchase, please contact the Uplay shop customer support team with your order ID and they will look into the matter for you.

If you go to http://shop.ubi.com/ and look in the top right there is an option marked "HELP". Clicking on HELP will take you to a page that lists answers to most common issues, but if your issue is not listed, at the bottom of the page is an option to "Contact Customer Service" which comes under the heading "STILL NEED HELP?". Clicking on that will take you to a web-form you can use to contact the shop customer service team for help with your issue.

K wtf is with Uplay's bull sh*t!!! I've bought my game on Steam, played 10mins of it a while back, now I need to enter my cd-key in again (exactly as it is, caps and dashes) and Uplay tells me "This CD Key or Activation code is already in use with another Uplay Account."

I don't have another Uplay account.... AND I've already played 10 mins of it... Why does Ubi find it necessary to revoke access to my damn game!?!?!? Do you guys not understand why people hate Uplay??? You lock out legit paying people for ef-sake!

Hello Ac187,

Thank you for contacting us. If when you log into your Uplay account you don't see your game in your game library, then it's possible that you either:
1 - Hid the game. If you have done this, in your game library you can click on "MORE" and select "Show hidden games" to make anything you've hidden visible in the "ALL GAMES" view.
2 - Logged into the wrong account. When you first purchased the game, it's possible that an account was created for you if you weren't already logged into one. If you contact the Ubisoft Support team with your CD key, they can check which account that cd-key is registered to and help you get playing.

You can contact support through our ticket system's webform found by clicking on "My questions" on this page: https://support.ubi.com and then clicking "Ask a Question".

If you have any issues using the webform, or if you cannot access your account, you can contact support for assistance through their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/UbisoftSupport, Twitter account: https://www.twitter.com/UbisoftSupport or by phone: https://support.ubi.com/en-us/FAQ.aspx?platformid=60&brandid=2030&productid=3888&faqid=kA030000000eiChCAI

Please stop with the canned answers! Neither of those are applicable in my case. I have the game in Uplay, not hidden. I have only one account and am not logged into the wrong account. I have already activated the game with the CD key given to me by steam. I have already been in game and have played it.

The problem is Uplay is now asking me to re enter my cd key, which I do, then tells me my key is already in use.

I have submitted a question, with no response. I even included a screen shot with the steam window (far cry 3 highlighted), the steam cd key window, and the cd key and message I get from Uplay.

Why are you keeping me from the software I PAYED for?!

Hello again Ac187,

In the Uplay PC client, if you click on the gear icon in the top right and then select Account information you will see a list of all products that are registered to your account. If your game is not listed there, then the most likely scenario is that you've logged into the wrong account. I know you are certain this isn't the case, but there should be no other reason for your game not being there if you'd already registered it to an account and played it in the past.

With regards to the support team, if you filled in the webform and submitted a question then you should receive a response within two working days. If you have not had a response from the support team within two working days, please contact a forum manager with your question ID and they can contact support to ask about any delays in resolving your issue. The forum managers are: Ubi-Mush (http://forums.ubi.com/member.php/970194-Ubi-Mush), Mr_Shade (http://forums.ubi.com/member.php/304536-Mr_Shade) and Volfbane (http://forums.ubi.com/member.php/1337630-Volfbane)

are you joking ?

far cry 3 can for found online for under $10

http://www.amazon.com/Far-Cry-3-PC/dp/B0050SZE2G

if you cant afford games on PC get a console and rent them...

if you buy a game thats already been activated..your screwed if they allowed cd keys to be reset people would buy the game .install it play it it .. then give it to another user to install and play ..then another user to install and play ..ect ect .....3 users on one purchase or more ??

BUY the game if you want to play it ..............

bottom line ......... stop buying games from pawn shops ..sorry but yes most games are now tied to a single account .. STEAM GAMES WORK THE SAME WAY

so Do game sold on Origin ..if you can not afford a game ..simply do not buy it ..or get a job and buy it if you want to play it .:p

Hi samifaridgamer, have you launched the game at all? If so, it could have bound the game on another account.
