Just a bit curious as the wing of a hurricane is quite thick and a .50 would have fit nicely. Did the brits ever tinker with either us or brit vickers guns in the hurricane series??

"Belgium built aircraft were equipped with four 12.7 mm (0.50 in) FN-Browning machine guns (http://www.fighter-planes.com/info/hurricane.htm)."

(Not a specialist on the subject, I just googled around a bit)

Have Fun!

Why use .50 cals when you can use 20mm cannons like in the II.c...

Or 40mm's like in the IID...

Also the "field mod" USSR version of the Hurricane in Il-2 has .50 cals, I can't remember what the full armament is though.

The Russian field mod had several variations. One of the types had two UB fifties and two 20mm ShVak cannon. Another had 4 ShVak cannon. There was also a limited field test of 4 UB fifties as well.

Yeah, but they only gave them about six seconds of ammo...
