:(Rarely do I complain about the moral values of a game, but I think Ubisoft have gone far to far.

a) The hunter is constantly challenged to kill "endangered species", to gain financial reward that's great. Why not just kill the poachers and release the animals far more justification in that action.

b) The final scene is actually quite disturbing, do the management of Ubisoft believe that young people aren't going to get access to the game, if they don't they are more na´ve than I thought. Were the management team on drugs, encouraging the behaviour of a sociopathic killer?

Have the corporate management of Ubisoft actually played the game, if they have and approve of the behaviour exploited within the game they need to do some real soul searching, I personally wouldn't want my children to see or become part of the game (so called) just for the sake of making profits which is what it is all about.

Ubisoft's moral values are to me questionable, as I have said I think they go to far into the sick area of gaming, that is the last Ubisoft game I will buy, I loved Far Cry 2, especially the multiplayer version our clan had numerous servers up and running we created maps and had lots of fun, but there come a point which you don't cross and I am afraid for me that has happened.

It's a game, not a lesson in morale. If you feel that you need someone totell you how to live your life, turn to The Good Book (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oC-fsFT7ZKs). >_<

Seriously, tho....

IT'S A GAME!

Ok. How moral do you think is it, to shoot someone? What kind of games do you play usually? You say you loved FC2, where you could burn and execute wounded, cringing enemies, yet you have a problem with endangered species being hunted in a VIDEO GAME! That sounds kinda like a double standard to me.

The game is meant for an adult audience and clearly has lunacy as a theme. And violence. If you can't deal with that, don't play it. And calling these elements pure selling arguments is just wrong. there is alot of great art, music, films and games, out there, that contribute to cultural wealth while being very brutal and imoral.

If the game gets into childrens hands, it's as usual the parents that are to blame, not the medium.

OP, obviously you have some validity to your points regarding a discussion of morale but...

This is, however, not a kids game.

And to me it's quite obvious that if someone, even as an adult, cannot make out the difference between a game (fantasy or even dream) and real life, then he/she allready have some pretty big issues.

The way I approach stuff like this. Mentally. Is that it is not me, ingame. It is, at most, my interpretation of an allready existing characters reactions in an allready establish (and far out) setting.

Thanks for your comments,

As you say it is an Adults game.... however in my country it is being sold to (MA 15+) i.e. School Children.

Do you suppose they are fully mature and emotionally settled at that age?

First of all, I think the parents are there to decide whether their child plays the game or not.
I think at 15+ you are in the middle of puberty and I bet most teens around that age already watched porn (sexual experimenting is part of growing up).
Having a sex scene in a game where there is paint on the nipples and you don't see anything, is not a big deal at all.

Also, MA stands for MATURE which means it's only meant for MATURE audiences.

Why do you even care if there are endangered species being murdered in the game? It's a GAME. It's part of the GAME. It's part of survival.
You kill millions of people in the game by burning them, stabbing them, shooting them and exploding them, yet killing bears and having sex is bad?

I don't even understand why people think having sex is a bad thing in games, even if younger TEENS (not kids, completely different) play the game.
Sex is part of being a human, it's a beautiful experience and it's better if you learn about it before you actually start having sex yourself.

If you still have double standards after this post, go back to your bible or something and don't play these kind of games. These games are for adults, not children as you said.

The Sex thing wasn't the issue, it is fine with me as you say it is part of growing up... slashing your girlfriends throat to win is despicable.

Mature at 15 your kidding me.

You bought the game knowing the rating. That's why the rating's there. Ubisoft did their due diligence informing you of the content. You need to do yours before buying a game if you are easily offended and observe the rating in details.

If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen... meaning if it offends you, don't play it. And don't come here crying because you can't handle it.

And as far as kids getting ahold of the game... who cares. If their parents are worth anything, they'll do the best they can to keep it out of their hands. If not, like most, they'll be able to google far worse vulgarities and offensive material on the internet than they'll see in Farcry 3 from a friends house.

^ ^ ^ Hahahaha! True that.

@ acid: Apparently Lisa wasn't his girlfriend. Just a friend who liked him. And to think that you are trying to kill a hypothetical friend in a game, you are clearly over thinking it. What did you think the game would be when you bought it? Didn't you watch any videos?? Didn't you know the definition of INSANITY? I chose the Join Citra ending because I did not want to leave the island. In my real life, I am very moral person, but no one can be accounted for the decisions they make during a game. There was a twist to that ending. You die! I was like, wtf?? But it is cool! Part of the game. As for kids being mature at 15? You have clearly not seen the average bunch. If you are referring to overprotected kids who are morally oppressed with "the Good book", then yes! this is game is certainly not meant for them and the weak hearted!
