I haven't flown the latest patches yet because I am deployed.

Before the patches, if your aircraft was damaged, but you managed to land, the person who shot you got a kill for it. Has that been fixed? I never liked that.

afaik kills are credited based on engine condition, if you land with an inoperable engine (out of fuel, bent props etc) then you are killed.

Thats crap! If I make it down. And can walk away, and the aircraft can be repaired, that shouldn't be a kill at all!

how long will it take for the ground crews to get to the plane, tow it to the base, fix it and test it to finally give it back to you?....if you are down and you cant fight anymore...thats a kill.

Does this stand for offline fights too? Plenty of times have I watched an enemy land in a field, engines burning, crew running for it, and not gotten the credit for a kill. Is it a)pilot dies, b)plane is crashed or unrecoverable, or c)both?

Well, for your info, if a plane made it back to base and was able to land in one piece, it was hardly a kill in the real W.W.II world. The enemy may have counted a damaged plane as a "probable" or "damaged" but that was all. There were many USAAF planes, both bombers and fighters that limped home badly damaged and some even had to "dead-stick" it fro the last few miles due to fuel exhaustion. But were they considered kills?? Hardly, I am' afraid. There was even a case in Korea where the famous American ace Richard Turner, had his F-86 Sabre engine conk out about 80 miles from home, and he could not restart it. But he had sufficient altitude to dead-stick it all the way home. He had to do side slips to lose speed on final. But he made it back and I'm sorry, no kill here, since neither he nor his plane was any worse for the wear. A kill?? I think not.
A simulation should endeavor to "simulate" real life combat.
If it wasn't a kill in RL, then it shouldn't be in FB either.

There are a lot of opinions on how the scoring system should work.
Oleg should have a poll.

Oh, yes, definately. A poll on scoring does seem in order...

I like a kill count implemented with decimals for partial kills.
