I really like the part where the starting cutscene in Ac3 shows the templars in the dark where they are holding a sword and wearing rings with the templar symbol however I can't get a good screenshot of it. I even tried to get it with fraps on the pc version max settings 1080p no help. It looks bad when you actually put it in a screenshot unfortunately. If someone has something similar please link it? I want it in high res. Something with modern day abstergo.

You mean the very first part narrated by William? It's a pre-rendered 720p video, so no matter how much you change graphics settings, there won't be a difference. And not a very high quality video either. Increasing the resolution to 1080p would only make it worse, because then it'll be horribly upscaled.

It looks good when in motion but when you screenshot it it sucks cause of low resolution.

I Don't think the game is 1080p native - Case does say it supports 720p 1080i & 1080p - But that's usually just upscaled on most games i think.

I'm not saying it's pinpoint sharp - but when i pause screen image , i can definately see more detail on the sword than the image in this thread .
it's a 50" Samsung Plasma screen .

Ahh what we are talking about is actually taking a screenshot. Looking at a paused screen is not similar because when you take a screenshot it converts it to a image file which loses quality, even bmp which is probably the least compressed image file doesn't look that good.

I play on pc max settings, the cut scene looks good normally too.

Max settings have nothing to do with pre-rendered scenes. It looks the same under any graphic setting. Try playing the video for yourself. File should be Videos\previouslyon.bik in the Assassin's Creed III folder.

Game is 720p native, yeah. I was wondering whether they had uncompressed high-res videos, or even 720p ones with high bit-rate in it for the pre-rendered scenes cause BluRay has enough space. (Again, just my speculation. I'm probably wrong.)
However, if they use the same compressed video for all platforms, it has to look the same.
