I have an enormous lag in Boston!I had no problem the first 30 minutes with Desmond and the ship mission, but as soon as i entered Boston my fps got from 45-55 to 20-30.I heard that many people have my problem, regardless of their Pc's.My specs are:ATI RADEON HD 6670,pentim dual core 2.93 and 4gb ram.It doesn't matter if i put it on normal or high. The lag is the same,so I'm asking how to fix. Will there be a patch soon? And i installed the latest drivers yesterday! Please, answer me!

All we have to go on so far is that Ubisoft claims they are 'aware' of the FPS problem being experienced by some users and are investigating it - and that's all. Ubisoft support and the forum mods here seem to shift the blame towards AMD and Nvidia though.

However, you should still drop a ticket to Ubisoft support - listing your problem, FPS, and exact computer specs. IF they ever bother to bring out a patch, I'm sure it'll go quicker if they can get as much information as possible.

I am not saying it's bad or something.
It's clear that ubisoft don't care at all, so hopefully more threads with change there mind.

I got a temporary solution just for that. I can now play AC3 on PC in Very HIgh settings with framerate of 35 to 120 fps on my HD6990. dpends on the place. Start AC3, then load data, then alt + tab, after than go to task manager, find AC3 process, righ click, set affinity to 2 cores, then come back to the game, walk around for 5 seconds, again alt + tab and set affinity again to all cores. Then, you are done.

Yeah I have the same problem but i found a fix, it doesn't fix the Boston Lag but improves performance in some parts of the game:

It is not a fix. In the .ini file is no settings which might fix this problem. Most of these settings you have in in-game menu so the same you can manipulate inside the game and say "i found a fix, you just have to use menu to configure your game! Bring me a Nobel prize!".

So, I may have finally found a solution for this annoying problem. I recently overclocked my CPU and GPU (FX-6100 and ASUS HD 7850). I OC'd my CPU from 3.3 GHz to 3.9 GHz (without changing the voltage) and my GPU from 850 MHz (default clock speed) to 900 MHz). The difference is quite significant. I got 10 FPS more in ALL areas  (including Boston).
Hope it helps :)
My whole rig: FX-6100
HD 7850 2GB
8 GB DDR3
1 TB HD
