I'm at this place in the New York Undeground.

It's the one where you have to climb up this^ , then do several back ejects, go across a ledge, and jump over to another crevice (shown below).

However, I'm lost as to where I should go from here. I can see some ridges on the right, but I can't figure out how to get there. Some tips, please?

EDIT: Never mind. Figured out that I can jump to the ridges sorta diagonally.

You're on PC, right?
PLEASE tell me what key sequence you used to make this jump.
I've tried 50 times and he keeps jumping to the wrong part of the wall and falling. I don't know how to make that "diagonal" jump.
I'm screaming in frustration right now.

Get to the top right edge, then W + D + RMB + SPACE to diagonally jump over to the green ridges on the side.

Anyway, I already have an Xbox 360 controller that I use mainly for racing games and fighting games. I just don't use it for AC. Somehow feels weird to. Played all AC games with M/KB and didn't have any problems. The issue I had with this is that I never tried jumping diagonally, cause the way that location is designed:

it never occured to me that jumping directly to the green ridges on the right would be possible.

Naw. Can't stand working with controllers. I like to work with my arms resting comfortably on my desk, one hand on the keyboard, one on the mouse. I find I have much better control and precision.

@Kolitha: thx for the help. I might have been missing the W in the sequence, although I thought I tried it and it didn't work. Will try again.
