I'm feeling reckelss so thinking of upgrading my rig a little, before the big upgrade comes with BoB.

I'm torn between a plasma screen, new chip/mobo or graphics card.

I currently have a bog standard crt display and wondered if you can pick up better resoultion/colours with a nice flat screen?

chip is a 2.04ghz AMD in an Abit mobo of some description, but I have a gig of DDR RAM and does well enough unless I run largish missions on perfect in which case FOS drops off, alarmingly sometimes.

card is an ATI 9600 256k (which has been pretty good) but am tempted by a 9800 pro.

I only want to spend a few hundred quid (tops) so, whaddya think? where would best upgrade in performance come from? Not that anything's bad, mind, just think a little expense could yield some good results.

Everything runs stable all the time and am keen not to affect that.

Crashing online as :FI:SpinyNorman

Normally Spiny Norman was wont to be about
twelve feet from snout to tail, but when Dinsdale was depressed Norman could be
anything up to eight hundred yards long.

I'm not sure about how well the 9600 works.

But If it runs the game fine I'd save money longer and wait for PCI express and upgrade mobo, vidcard, and memory if needed, when it comes out at a decent price.

But for now A monitor may be in order. I recently went from a old viewsonic 20g built in 1995 to a veiwsonic A90f+ and am very pleased. It was money well spent.

You could get a 9800pro 256 and maybey be able to run in perfect all the time if thats a concern of yours with the rig you have now.

I have a
pentium 2.4 ht800 cpu
Asus p4p800 deluxe mobo
1 gig 3200 ram
9800 pro 256
audigy2
100 gig wd hd

and run perfect all the time. My fps are lower around alot of objects but I seldom go into cities to fight at low altitude.
