Dear Ubisoft...

I am a great fan of the Assassins Creed Series... But with AC3, you just blew up my whole positive thoughts of you.

Did you even test the Game on Computers??? We had to wait more than 2 weeks after the console release and the majority of the gamers are experiencing very heavy FPS-Drops in Citys and in the open world.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I mean, i couldn't wait for AC3, i was so happy when i finally got my Join or die Edition today and THIS is what i get? a game maximum playable at 25-35 FPS with a high end computer??

Yeah, i know there are already other threads on this topic but i think you should at least apologize and give us a date when you will patch this... i will not touch this game anymore, until you finally took on this matter!!

PC:
Quad Core i7 3,4 ghz
AMD RADEON HD 7970 3gb
16 Gb memory

!!

Do something!! NOW!

Sincerly

oh i forgot to add, as soon as i set anti aliasing up to the max, i experience heavy graphic-issues, glitches and bugs eeeeverywhere... need to set AA to medium, then it works "fine"

runs perfectly fine for me ... as usual ati users will have to wait for Driver hot fixes - reason why i quit using ATI after more then ten years.. they just suck at Drivers and Fixing performance

Look around the forum and you will see it mostly affects AMD/ATI users.
There are some nvidia users, but not much.

Just to show you how stupid the optimization is. You are using a 7970 3GB and i7.. While i am using a 6850 and a FX-6100.. Yet we are both getting the same FPS in Boston 25-35FPS... Had this been well optimized i think i should at least had 40 stable and you should have had a 60 stable.

Try installing beta drivers from AMD http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst1211betadriver.aspx

Solved the problem for me (dont know if it fixes FPS issues)

Same here, can't run smooth with high-end computer. Assassin's Creed games are usually very **** in performance and technical things in the first days and weeks after launch. I hope Ubisoft will soon launch updates for performance improvements, support for 2 GPU's and at least an option to support DirectX 9.

I held off on my order after hearing about poor frame rates week before release . Glad i held on to my money .

when you say awesome you mean 40 frames - 50 - 60 ? For me I need 100-120 frames to declare a game to be "awesome"

id love to see what 120 frames looks like, is there a dig diff between 60- and 120? like ther is with 60 and 30, if ive been playing at 60 i notice if it drops to 50 55 even, but im fine with 30, never under though, 30 is absolute minimum for me, and though 30 isnt nice at first, you soon get used to it, the bad thing about this game is you willl be teased with 60 frames at some parts of boston, and the fps jumps up and down way to much, now the thing is the devs know full well the target frame rate for pc is 60 just like they know 30 for consoles, it is unacceptable but as allways we just have to bend over, and all we can do is come on to there forums, and wont even get acknowledged, at least bethesda have the decency to lett there customers know whats going on and that they are aware of the problems and WILL fix it, i hate devs who just remaine silent

Yes I can tell the difference from 30-60-90-120 . Visuals look better and the games physical fluidity comes to life . The ability to use 120 frames is unique on its own . Sure 60 frames runs well but once you hit 120 frames you will clearly see and feel the difference . About to buy 1600p monitor but passed that up for the Samsung SA950 and loving it . Sure 1600p would look sharper but 120hz monitor is no joke when it comes to fluent quality .

That is why I never pre-order since most publishers and developers can't be trusted - its a sad truth .

No issues with low FPS drops, running Nvidia GTX 670 SLI here on a 120Hz 1080p monitor. Nvidia users having problems make sure to run the 310.54 Beta drivers or newer as they have specific optimizations for Assassin's Creed 3!

Mine freezing issue is fixed by just putting Aliasing down one notch. Every 10 minutes it'd freeze using my 590 GTX. Now I've played for 3 hours straight with no problems except for the glitching snow issue. Not sure how to fix that.

I'm astounded, at how difficult it is for me to play this right now. I have a fairly high end gaming laptop, and I have to turn the resolutions to the absolute lowest, and every other graphical option from anti-aliasing to shadow quality to the lowest, to get a smooth game. Very disappointed Ubisoft. I waited just over three weeks for the game to release in Australia, and it's an unplayable mess.... Please patch ASAP.

Specs:
Alienware M17x
Intel quad core i7 2.3Ghz
2GB Radeon 6990
16Gb RAM.

I should be able to play this smoothly at 'high' settings, perhaps even at 'very high'

pretty sure thats not the case... id expect something about 30 fps average... 22-25 at Boston on normal Detail

"AC3 unplayable, even with high end computer"

Since when was 30fps unplayable?

It is slightly annoying (I have a high end PC too, and usually sit between 30-40fps in this game), but calling it unplayable is a huge exaggeration. Nvidia and AMD will release improved for the game, likely in the first week, and Ubisoft may even improve PC performance in their patches. Until then, 30fps is very playable.

These are my specs:

mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H (running on latest bios and drivers)
cpu: Intel Core i5 3570K
gpu: SAPPHIRE HD 7970 3GB Vapor-X (running on latest BETA drivers)
memory: 8gb
SSD: Samsung 830 256gb
OS: WIN 7 x64

I used fraps to see what kind of fps im getting, with everthing on highest setting i have an avarage of 45 fps. sometimes 35 but doesnt drop lower. The game runs smooth for me cant notice any lags.

What people consider to be "Smooth", "playable", "laggy" etc is all relative and perceptual. Some of you may be fine playing at 30-40fps, but there are also many of us who can't play below 60fps.
