Everyone is having performance issues. And it doesn't help that settings like AA, Ambient Occlusion, tessellation etc aren't manually customize-able. What the **** were these guys thinking.

I'm also experiencing extreme performance issues when arrived in Boston. I get fps from like 18-22 and it does not seem to improve, no matter what resolution or settings I pick. I updated to the latest beta CCC driver and checked everything, but nothing worked. My system consists of a Phenom II x4 940 @ stock, HD 6950 2 GB and 4 GB kingston ram. It appears I am definitely not the only one. It is especially outstanding that almost everyone who has issues with AC3 performance is running a AMD/ATI based system (the ones with issues on Intel/Nvidia seem to do just fine when they update to the latest Nvidia drivers), so it has to be an issue with the game or the current AMD drivers. Also, considering the fact that I farly exceed the recommended specs (my CPU is even mentioned in the specifications), this is very disappointing.

i have a gtx460, 12gb ram, i7 950 3Ghz and as soon as the intro ends the game shows graphic errors (dont know how to call them but i think its like texture, trying to get an image) and the game crashes

Running ATI 6850 / 8GB of RAM / FX-6100 CPU and getting horrible FPS. about 18 on highest settings and 25 on lowest settings.

This game is beautiful yes.. But its not THAT beautiful that it runs on an average of 25 FPS on a med-end PC on lowest settings -_-

I think I'll be very disappointed with the game performance in my system.
Has anyone here played the MP? I wonder if the same performance issues have been seen in the MP matches.

I am also experiencing stuttering / low fps in open areas. It seems to be a problem with the current AMD drivers, as updating to the latest drivers for Nvidia based cards seems to fix the problem. I guess AMD users will just have to wait. Needless to say I am disappointed, and I hope it will be fixed soon.

specs: AMD Radeon 6850 / 6GB RAM / Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200

Why is nvidia always releasing drivers first? ATI always takes ages.. I seriously hope they manage to fix this with a driver. The game is bloody awesome but the 20 fps just ruins the whole experience

I have a similar problem, i can run the game perfectly fine with my frames around 60 but my game will randomly freeze while walking around. it has happened 6 times and one of those times my computer did a memory dump.

System Specs:
CPU: FX-8120
Graphics: Nvidia Gtx 650TI
Ram: 8GB G-Skill
HDD: 750GB Western Digital

First, my rig:

Phenom II 955 X4
NVidia GTX 680

I installed NVidia's latest Beta driver that was designed specifically for AC3 and it runs pretty good. There was a little choppiness in certain parts of Boston so I dialed down antialising in-game to "medium" and that solved it. Game runs smooth as better now in 1920x1200 with every other setting absolutely maxed out. And just to add -- beautiful game on a properly built gaming rig. For those of you who have played it on a console as well (I rented it on 10/30 for my XBOX 360), you know how absolutely terrible it looks compared to the PC version. So glad we are able to play it on PC as it should be played (and viewed)
