I spent about an hour this morning writing quite a comprehensive post about the problems I encountered installing DCG, and highlighted a few innaccuracies in the instructions. The rest of the post was also pretty informative in places.

Now I can't find that post that I spent so long writing; unless I've missed it, which is possible, it seems to have been deleted.

Now, one person in that thread (forgotmyname) wrote a few posts using a couple of expletives. I hope that the whole thread didn't get deleted because of that. If this is the case, I am really disappointed that all that information and time was wasted because of one idiot. If it was deleted for this reason, couldn't you have just delete *his* posts and not the whole thread?

Thanks.

lol. Thanks for the 'warning'.
I had a guy in a black suit sniffing around my house this afternoon, claiming to be from the Federal Bureau of Moderation. I think I'll delete FB from my drive and move house before it's too late.

Not really, looking at ORR and the tech forum will give people a negative outlook,

I saw your post earlier. It doesn`t make sense that it was deleted, despite what the other say. The mods usualy let you know too.

Have you changed your settings at all? In any way? I did once and everything changed around, making me think someone had deleted my post.

Check properly, it`s probably still there somewhere.

Yeah, I did say it was possible that I missed it somehow, but I've gone back eight pages, and used the searchbox to look for 'antifreeze', 'forgotmyname', and 'DGC'. All my contributions from the last six months are listed, but not the one from this morning.

Maybe it is just a board hiccup, but I think possibly someone used the 'report this post' feature, the mods took a look at forgotmyname's whining and just deleted his account maybe. If an account is deleted, I'm pretty sure all the threads started by that person go too (that's how it works on NukePHP, anyway).

If so, its just a bit of a shame; it was a really helpful post (but I'm sure not going to write it all out again!). Same happened to me once on the old forum; I spent an hour writing about hotas settings and using multiple periphials, but the board crashed a few hours later and it was all lost.

I'd like to find out what happened though, so I can try to prevent it happening again if possible.

Hmm. That`s a point. Well, when you`re up to it perhaps you could post what you wrote as a new thread to help others and just save your message on notepad on your PC in case something goes wrong. Your post was helpful, although I`ve completely swapped the DGens with no probs.

`Forgotwhateverhisname`s` post was annoying, with no real thought, so it makes sense that the Mods may have killed it`.
