View Full Version : Historically accurate? [SPOILERS]

I read in one of the interviews that Assassin's Creed 3 had the potential to be more historically accurate than previous games because there was more information about this period in time. However, several things are still far out of place, such as Charles Lee, who is one of the main antagonists in AC3.

Here's the wikipedia page on the actual Charles Lee.

I had hoped they at least kept the circumstances of his death in mind.

They could have turned that into a "unique location mission" like they did at the end of Brotherhood, with the bonus objective being to kill Lee by hitting him with a poison dart, which would make it look like he died of a fever.

Now, i can't blame Ubisoft, since it'd be insanely hard to make the game historically accurate and still be interesting enough for an Assassin's Creed game. But just for fun, how many other historical inaccuracies could have been solved by thinking it through a bit more? :p

Or you could've snuck into his home or whatever and assassinated him at his bedside while he was sick. Then they could've just reported it as him dying by his sickness so that people don't panick or something like that

or we could ask...does the historical accuracy really matter for a "work of fiction" as it is called in the opening load screen of the game? we could ask, and i would think the answer would be "no". IMO, the fact they included so many historical figures makes it be a game worth looking over historical innaccuracies...IMO

This thread doesn't really contain hints and tips and if it includes actual game spoilers, it's minor. You guys keep saying "Spoilers go in Hints and Tips" while that section isn't specifically intended for posting spoilers. It's for posting hints and tips that may contain spoilers. The topic of this thread fits more in general discussion instead of hints and tips, and i'm not about to post this thread in a section where it doesn't belong simply because it contains spoilers.

I apologize for not marking this thread with a spoiler warning, but that's all i'm apologizing for.
