You had to get both of your ring fingers removed. Would you? Or would you let the blades slice your fingers every time you extend it.

yeah I think the answers pretty obvious.

And Altair fixed the blade anyway, so yah :P (I realise that's not your point, but oh well)

Well, I play guitar, so no. Having no ring fingers would be a little unhandy.

Nah, but in all seriousness, no way. There's no point in even walking around with Hidden Blades.

Haha no, I don't feel the need to walk around town sticking a blade through people's faces.

...though it would come in handy for puncturing tires of big Dodge Ram 3500's in parking lots when they park like d*cknoses..

It was DaVinci who modified the blade.

It was DaVinci who modified the blade.

Based on Altaris design and codex page.

"Though I ask our brothers to abandon their rituals...[removed a bit] This is what makes us Assassins. Not the removal of a finger"
Written by Altair in the Codex quite a few years before Da Vinci was around.

From AC wiki: "
However, the blade's mechanism was modified in the 13th century – as outlined in the Codex of Alta´r Ibn-La'Ahad – so as to no longer require such a sacrifice, and to keep Assassins from being identified so easily.[3]

Despite this, the tradition was not forgotten. From the Renaissance to at least the early 20th century,[4] Assassins branded their left ring fingers during their initiation into the Order, as a sign of their devotion to the Creed.[3]"

Nope, Altair used knowledge from the apple to modify the blade, it was in the Codex Pages in AC2, Leonardo just manufactured it.

Lol play through ac2 again and listen to the dialog. And wiki is a joke and wrong 80% of the time.

"The [Hidden Blade] has begun to show its age – and so I have been researching improvements beyond ending the need to remove one's finger to wield it."

Are you disagreeing with the codex, which I have sat on my lap right now??
Why did Ezios father not have a missing finger even though he used the blade often?? oh yeah, the modification had already been made many years prior.

You are.

Also the AC wiki is very well kept. 80% wrong is not even a close assumption. I would say the AC wiki is waaaay less than 80% inaccurate

If anything it is the other way around and it is 80% correct :p. Probably more though to be honest considering the Devs and Corey himself have referenced the Wiki themselves in the past. That's not saying it is 100% accurate of course, but it is obviously pretty good.
