I was fly a mission and engaged an autopilot. My A/C (LaGG-3S4) is exceeding speed of 600kmh in dive and everything was looking nice, but when I disengaged autopilot and wanted to take over the control of A/C, my left wing immediately fall off..?

And other thing, on various A/C's I've noticed similar thing on flaps. When autopilot fly my A/C on over 400kmh it can apply 'take off' flaps, but imediatelly after I took control, I try to put them in 'combat' position, but they become jammed..?

Is this a bug or something?

nope, it's just that AI follows different rules than players.

My favorite is the random 360-degree circles the AI fella will throw into the flight plan for no apparent reason.

And not to mention blackouts/redouts... I was wonder about mentioning it (why autopilot never--or rarely--? black-out on hard turning manoeuvres), 'cause I didn't spent much time to test it. I guess my plane AUTOPILOT is just superman... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Tell me about it. The first thing I do when I jump off autopilot is hit the 'v' (flaps up) key about 8 times, just to be sure.

You need to cycle your flaps...when Autopilot puts flaps down and you turn Autopilot off you must put flaps down then up...I mean, just raising flaps does not work you must hit a higher flap key then start retracting them...Autopilot messes something up.

Watch I~16 from external view during Autopilot takeoff, you see it uses extra flaps under fuselage that you can't use. All this is pre~Patch so don't know if still like this but probably.

My AI watches patiently as I chase a plane all over the sky and then shoots it down just before I press the fire button. I hate them http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

When I engage autopilot, I never see messages like you would on a human controlled plane. Stuff like "Combat Flaps" or the different percentages as you increase or decrease throttle. The only message I've seen in an autopilot plane is "Forzash enabled" or "Water Injection Enabled".

Also the LaGGs are notorious for being prone to fatal spins AFAIK, but the AI LaGGS just go on their merry way chasing me around. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Yes... about flaps, to even "enable http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif" it after disengaging autopilot, u must put them in lower position first (if they are in 'combat' pos. u first put them in 'take off' pos., then u must quckly pump the binded key for "Raise flaps" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif).

And yes, Capt._Tenneal I've never seen that messages also. Only messages about WEP. About LaGG's, man you don't wanna to go into spin with that plane under 250-300m---it's very hard to recover- especially on extreme low or high speeds. I fly LaGG campaign and experiencing it many times when chasing Bf109's. Other than that problems, LaGG is very much a 'monster durable' plane. Not to mention armament on S4. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Cause of most of my unfinished missions is when I get killed one way or the other by-flak, enemy bomber gunner, head-on enemy fighters etc(message: "Pilot: killed" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif). Very rarely I get shot down in that bird. Offline http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
